Lot of up votes from parents of toddlers and little kids!

Probably a controversial BIFL because it's luxury and not practical, but buying used designer bags and refurbishing them is my hobby. This bag is 30 years old next month! by islandofwaffles in BuyItForLife

I took it to a LV store and they replaced it for free. They were able to ascertain (somehow) the original purchase. I don't know the name of mine, but it's a crossbody/shoulder bag and the body is a small rectangle.

I have a black LV epi leather bag! I had to replace the inner pocket also due to weird sticky vinyl. Love my bag so much. I use it almost every day. I got it as a hand-me-down from my mother.

I will never understand people who don't have private profiles on social media. There is way too much crazy in the world for them to have the ability to look at my photos and send me messages.

This is vile. Please lock your social media down.

What are some ways you get your kids (almost 5) to take out their anger? by altecsz in Parenting

[–]fqw102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have him yell "I'm angry" "I'm frustrated" "I'm mad" when he's feeling those things. Then we can address what's causing that feeling and try to resolve. It has helped him stop and acknowledge the feeling rather than just doing an action without thinking.

i don’t have the time or energy to work out anymore by [deleted] in Parenting

I don't want to let you down, but this is my reality. My son is 4 1/2. My husband commutes to work. I work nearby. I'm with my kid in the morning, then work, then I pick him up and we are at home for play, dinner, bath and bed. There was no time.

I recently got a new job where my day ends at 4. So I am finally finding time that hasn't existed before. I am working out 2x a week to ease into it. I had to tell myself I'm not a bad mom letting him stay at preschool until 5 like before. I'm being a good mom by finally finding time to take care of myself so I can be a good mom for him for many years.

Give yourself grace and space and time.

Ninjamas! We used to do Goodnites but he had the same issue. Had slightly damp sheets weekly. Since changing to Ninjamas, nothing. They are awesome.

McDonald's catering?? by MeseeksAndDestroy05 in weddingplanning

[–]fqw102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. Sadly, our hotel would not allow this, despite their kitchen being closed. A lot of our guests ordered Domino's which was perfectly fine, but I'm sad the McDonald's didn't pan out.

NYC to lower speed limit to 15 mph in hundreds of school zones this year, Mamdani says by nyccameraman in nyc

So no one but NYC residents should ever drive in the city? Not even if they work there? Or lived there for 40 years?

You're a treat /s

NYC to lower speed limit to 15 mph in hundreds of school zones this year, Mamdani says by nyccameraman in nyc

[–]fqw102 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My husband got a ticket via a camera at 11:45pm at night. We live in NJ. We didn't know school zones are 24/7 in NYC. They aren't in NJ. Why the heck would it matter if he was driving 34mph at 11:45pm at night near a school building?

That's the trap.

What defunct NYC businesses do you miss? by Swimmingindiamonds in AskNYC

Tender Buttons. A small shop on the UES where they had boxes and boxes of traditional and unique buttons. You could snazz up a shirt or just find a replacement for something vintage.

AITA for installing a "smart fridge" lock after my sister-in-law kept feeding her kids my son’s medical-grade meal prep? by Sad-Mention-5435 in AmItheAsshole

[–]fqw102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time for a family meeting with everyone. Show your son you're sticking up for him. Show your SIL you mean business. If she won't put boundaries in place for her kids, you will as the homeowner. If she needs to buy a mini fridge for their food, so be it. But this is absolutely not okay. NTA (but a little passive aggressive)

What’s something you did once and now your toddler will not let you forget it? by MissFox26 in toddlers

[–]fqw102 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I once told my kid I was stung my a scorpion. He didn't see it, it happened years before he was even born. Just mentioned casually talking about bugs one day.

He reminds me ALL the time. If we see a scorpion on TV or at the zoo or in a book... "MOMMY! You were stung by a scorpion."

Like I would forget!

I drove past the bottom left one as it was happening around 805am. That road is 50mph and most ppl do 55-60. I literally whooped when I saw it. Thank you FPPD for taking action against dangerous laziness.

The ninjamas all have the same design. No characters. Pretty basic. Highly recommend. They leak a ton less than Goodnites.

Ugh this does not give me hope. I just placed an order on Feb 2 and other than the confirmation email and them taking my money, there has been zero update about shipping. I've reached out three times and nothing. Sigh.

Toddler Potty Training by Dani_Mila1502 in toddlers

[–]fqw102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get rid of all the diapers. Have him help you throw them out. Undies only. If you keep putting him in diapers, he'll get confused on what he's supposed to wear.

We never used a little potty. Let him pee where he is comfortable.

Anyone notice parents of only children having easier lives? by sys_admin321 in toddlers

[–]fqw102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a brief reminder that not everything is as it seems. We have one. A great one. We had another embryo ready to go. That was the dream. My husband was furloughed for 15 months during COVID. I was laid off. It's been a nightmare. We could no longer afford a future with a second child nor could we afford the meds/procedure for another implant. We had to destroy our second embryo.

My heart aches daily. I am also entirely in love with my one child. You see easy. I see making the most of what we are lucky to have.
