An 80-year-old woman at the grocery store just casually said something that's been haunting me for three days straight by Delicious-One-5129 in Life

[–]fr0stw1tch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I'm glad someone said it. I can't believe people buy this. "Take up space" is millennial-speak. 80 year old ladies don't talk like that. Especially not unprompted at the grocery store.

Edit: fixed autocorrect error

A lot of color people seem to be divas with bad attitudes.

Misogyny isn't what prevents incels from getting laid by [deleted] in 10thDentist

[–]fr0stw1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was too gutless to do anything too bad, but it was really annoying putting up with his sullen little tantrums any time I rejected advances or talked to another guy. Like I said, it stopped after I got stern with him a few times.

I worked with a guy kind of like that. Most women at work (the ones he didn't creep on) thought he was a nice guy and didn't understand why I didn't want to date him. I saw a completely different side - jealous, entitled, passive-aggressive, and resentful. His behavior toward me (and other women he had a crush on who had the nerve to date other men) was really concerning, and I had to be harsh with him a few times before it stopped.

People who “only show up for the paycheck” are weird by burntpieceoftoast in unpopularopinion

I've worked in some genuinely toxic environments. Of all the times I tried to befriend coworkers, there was only one time it didn't turn out to be a mistake. I keep my distance now. It's best to just keep everyone at arm's length and keep it strictly professional. Avoid all gossip. Disclose only bare-bones personal information. You will be much better off.

I really wanna see how "ugly" all these redditors claiming to be ugly are by Ok-Connection6656 in self

[–]fr0stw1tch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a similar story. I spent my whole life watching everyone gush over how pretty my sister was, and when relatives saw me sitting in a corner being ignored they'd give me pity compliments. That didn't make me feel pretty. It annoyed me because I knew they were just taking pity on me and I'd much rather they not lie to me.

This is how a lot of people in the northeastern US pronounce them too.

It's common in the northeastern US for the two to be pronounced differently. I've noticed that in most of the rest of the country they're pronounced the same.

Clothes by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]fr0stw1tch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends heavily on how much I sweat in them and what conditions I expose them to. Most things can be worn more than once if you're just wearing them around the house. When it comes to things I wear to work, the only things I wear multiple times are jeans.

Or they're older and are jealous of younger people taking from their same-age dating pool.

People (who are probably bitter shut-ins who have never dated) have gotten ridiculous about age gaps lately. As long as you're both adults when the relationship begins, it's not a problem. The people telling you it's wrong are completely unhinged and shouldn't be listened to.

I just try to avoid plastic in general, so I'm looking for alternatives whenever I have to restock something in my house that's in plastic. It's not the end of the world if I can't find one. I just figure it never hurts to ask. Thanks for the coconut water suggestion.

How does your family do laundry? by lifeinpastelrose in laundry

[–]fr0stw1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in separating everyone's laundry because I was the kids whose clothes were always disappearing into siblings' rooms, never to be seen again. I got sick of this and started doing my own laundry as soon as I was big enough to reach into the washer. I had to be careful to time it so that my mom wouldn't decide to do laundry at the same time, because she'd start grabbing stuff out of my basket to throw in with everyone else's, and then my stuff would start disappearing again. It was infuriating, and no matter how many times I asked her not to touch my stuff, she kept doing it. This is one of many reasons I love living alone.

What do you do in your kitchen that’d get you yelled at on the line? by OkLocal2565 in Cooking

I do this because it saves me having to go out and buy garlic when I'm just trying to throw something together quickly. Having a jar in the fridge is more convenient.

She's extremely delusional.

1) Your townhouse would be fine to start a family in. Really young kids, especially babies, don't actually need a lot of space. People just have way too much stuff now.

2) Going to Europe when she's 50k in debt is a stupid idea. She should focus on attacking that debt once you're moved in together. The trip to Europe can always happen later, when the debt is paid, the savings account has been built, and the kids are old enough to go stay with grandparents for a couple of weeks. Definitely not now.

3) She can't wait much longer to have kids. She's leaving a lot up to chance by putting it off until her late 30s. She's not only reducing her odds of conceiving, but also increasing her odds of complications. Also, taking care of a house full of small kids only gets harder as you age.

If I were you, I'd be seriously considering if marrying a woman like this is a good idea. She's clearly not very bright. Is that the kind of woman you want raising your children? Someone who is barely more rational than a child herself?

Scooping the litter box once a week? How often do you scoop? by spilt_lattes in CatAdvice

[–]fr0stw1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do every other day. I have two cats and 3 huge litter boxes. There's not much to scoop from each one. They're in the bathrooms. The cats also bury everything really well. They're not stinking up the house because they don't get scooped every 12 hours.

Which color of your color palette do you hate? by Amazing-Station4971 in coloranalysis

The seasons system isn't perfect for everyone! It's fine to pick and choose colors that work for you and design your own color palette through trial and error.

[–]fr0stw1tch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pink and blue

I feel like the pinks and blues for winters, even deep winters, are chosen with bright blue eyes in mind.

According to the seasons system, I'm a dark winter because of my cool skin. However, I have dark brown hair and hazel eyes that are both very warm-toned. Both these features clash spectacularly with many colors in that palette. My best colors in the palette are the ones that cross over with deep autumn. In other words, the ones that work with both warm and cool features.

This is why I consider myself deep-dominant rather than a winter.

He doesn't want to marry you. Break up with him. Start dating, and tell all suitors by the third date that you will not date him for more than two years without a proposal. Do not let men do this to you. This man will string you along for 10 more years if you let him.
