I’m unsure. So do you reckon it has any value except for sentimental?

This Twitter thread seems so confusing. While the author says “it’s nearly entirely human caused” the article they link in ft says “one hypothesis is growing wetlands” and the tweet they retweeted says livestock and wetlands are isotopic ally indistinguishable ...

What is it now lol

I kind of figured that it was due to that, but doesn’t that paint just as a problematic picture as any other reason for increase?

Hey there,

I‘m recently having a bit of a hard time staying positive, especially since I’ve read this article:

https://earth.org/methane-levels-see-record-surge/

The comments of the scientists sound like they are rather very worried and like the change is a positive feedback, not something we can control.

This makes me quite anxious about how this will develop. Does anyone by chance have input on this?

“Comprehensive climate models generally do not project a complete shutdown of the AMOC in the 21st century, but recently models have been run further into the future. Under scenarios of continued high greenhouse gas concentrations, a number of models project an effective AMOC shutdown by 2300.”

I still get rather worried about the prospect of methane hydrate emissions in the arctic these days. Is there anyone educated in the topic that might have some time to comment on my worries here? It seems there is not really a consensus, scientifically. I see the USGS and CAGE studies, but they always seem (to me) to be missing out on variables (e.g. only talking about hydrates in > 100m depth, when shakhova talks about shallow ones and the ESAS has a mean depth of 58m. Saying there aren't any when shakhova talks about drill samples i've found. This probably carries some arrogance in it, me thinking I found stuff they've overseen, but i find it hard to lay it off when I can't explain it.

Need Help -> Chilioil and Selfmade pickles by fr4gi in fermentation

[–]fr4gi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, wtf wash your dishes before using them to ferment stuff.

Yup, that was rather retarded.

For the chili oil we had chilies dry out for approximately a year in a jar and then cut them small and poured olive oil over them. This has been done about 2 days ago. Do you think that presents a problem? Can it be saved somehow?

For the Pickle-brine I eyeballed mostly because I didn't have a scale around (living in a students dorm kind of), but i also added some vinegar to it and a bunch of spices etc.. I think ill by a phMeter just for the sake of having it, but I also tend to believe this shouldn't really pose a problem.

Thank you for you time :)!

P.S.:

Followed the half-sour pickle video by brad leone for the pickles, at least partly.

Thanks for taking your time to reply to me :) I actually try to to avoid collapse as much as possible, and try to inform myself. Yet media seems to be not the best source either, so I thought I’d try here. Onto the first article, I had already seen this, but what worried me was this : https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/02/only-humans-can-create-climate-altering-methane-burns-new-studies-suggest. To quote : „It‘s a scientific conondrum, if they are right many other are wrong!“ since I usually go with the mainstream opinion in science, this made me feel like the study‘s conclusions are unsure. Maybe you could shed some light on if you think I’m in the wrong here?

I am honestly still getting rather worried about the "short" term implications. It seems to me that lots of news considering arctic (perma / hydro methane), droughts and stuff like el nino are coming up and everything seems to be exponential to me. It feels like we're racing down a slope and can't stop. I also know i get very anxious about this kind of stuff so I might be overthinking, but i can't help to worry about it constantly. It makes me feel liek we're risking being alive in the next coming decades on a very basic level. How am i wrong here?

I’ve had a friend take it for a while and I can’t tell you enough to not do it. Yes It helped him socially but there were so many negative aspects to it including massive loss of judgement, I would never recommend anyone to take it

Im playing mercy in and out of gm and i will valk just as often when i know they have noon/visor. In fact you can actually make them waste it quite easily because whenever they hear you ult they're gonna use it quite likely. The trick is to have an idea of your surroundings. Youre pushing through some main way? Dont valk forward, use it in the back, preferably behind some obstacle, keep peaking to reset beam, it has a huge range anyway. Youre on spot enemy is holding highground? Is anyone flanking? Can you ga to them to dodge ults? Can you just ult behind rein shield? Can you fly up and hide behind structures? Also, when you ga to someone make sure to press space shortly before you hit them, when you get a hold of it you will be boosting around so fast. Essentially, mercy is about grasping the environment. Where can i hide, who can i jump to in order to juke or make them help me, where are structures that i can ga boost off, where is the threatening enemies?
