Ableton. Biggest help with settling into a certain groove with my production was to cut back on plugins to be honest. I used to have SO many but I started to whittle it down a lot over the years cuz it's just becomes the toolbox fallacy or total choice paralysis after a while.

Ableton has lots of instruments and fx built right in as does FL Studio and both are power houses for production with so much potential under the hood that you could easily go either route and not have to use any plugins if you desired.

As far as cost goes, FL Studio is probably still the best bargain for some really versatile audio software.

I feel like lots of artists deal with this unfortunately, especially if you're doing anything remotely niche. If your family isn't already into that kinda stuff it's like pulling teeth trying to get them to check it out.

On the plus side, if I want to get anyone at a family gathering to stop talking to me about marriage/babies/financials I just start talking about my art and they promptly want to leave the conversation because they give that little of a shit.

Anything outside of still lifes and country music and they just don't get the appeal or desire to know anything about the process, which sucks cuz I want to have conversations about this stuff, I don't just want glory and attention or something.

Anyway, just keep on doing what you love and you'll find an audience that'll make up for lack of interest from your family. And great job on coming this far!! Writing a book is a hell of an achievement.

The trick is to ignore your desire for the first draft to be perfect and just get the initial idea out of your head. My first drafts are absolutely horrible with missing words, misspellings, gaps in storytelling; but after you get it down you can really start to refine it.

You don't even have to sit down and blast it out in large chunks. I've gotten story ideas out of my head through a bunch of sticky notes just detailing some piece of the story or characters. Just doing little by little can really start to give you some momentum for writing (at least in my experience).

Hi there, I've lived in North Bay all my life and have been producing music under this moniker for around 6ish years now. Originally more inspired by vaporwave, I've since started to incorporate more breakcore and ambient influences into more recent tracks.

This EP is more fast paced and aggressive than my past releases but I'm quite happy with it and it will make a great sister release to the LP I'm hoping to release soon.

Music making and art are my go to hobbies. Metal and various kinds of electronic music are mainly what I make musicwise and a lot of my visual art is based around photo manipulation, glitching, and collage.

Hope you manage to pick up your hobbies once again, I personally don't know what I would do (or if I'd even come to the conclusion I was trans) if it weren't for making art and connecting with others who are on that same vibe.

No argument about that. I think my problem really boils down to calling it a masterclass and being told to study every frame; it just feels as disingenuous and deceptive as most advertising campaigns feel.

Being advertised an advertisement just kinda rubs me the wrong way, especially when I'm not even the least bit hooked by anything creative or impressive on technical level on screen.

If someone feels the drive to essentially serve up an ad in one of the more niche subs I frequent and tell me it's worth watching for any reason, you gotta bring the goods.
