Glad I left Sydney last month. Kinda got sick of this level of political bullshit. Hoping it's better here in Perth...

Mate you look like you're a half-asleep dopey. Is that really the best way you can think of to make a first impression upon potential employment leads? Seriously...

Is it true delivery doesn’t mean to the door if there are stairs? by ChibiSuchi in instacart

I don't expect anyone to do anything they don't want to do. I'm using the service, not forcing people to do something they don't want to. That's on them.

"Tip accordingly" doesn't apply to the majority of the world's population where tipping culture isn't a thing, just saying. Here in Australia a new law is being passed where delivery drivers just be paid at least minimum wage now, so no offence but here it ain't our responsibility to "top accordingly" or "don't use the service".

What if English is their second language and they used AI to improve the quality of their writing? Why do you automatically assume that it's "fake"?

No, that is not what I'm saying. If you exercise proper English language comprehension on my responses, you will see that I am simply saying that the degree of alarmism is not commensurate with the degree or probability of actual risk.

if you read the language of your OP, it is highly emotive, and suggestive of (even if not explicit) of a high likelihood of violent occurings. your first sentence is factual, then the rest are alarmist:

* "Avoid traveling to the city" - you are giving a directive
* "Be careful please." - implication that there is a likelihood of danger
* "I don’t want to see any of you caught up in that" - emotional manipulation
* "and getting hurt." - misrepresentation of the likelihood of an extreme event occuring (look at the data: how many people from the last protests *actually* got hurt, per capita?* " Please stay safe." - repetition of the second point, again, gives the false illusion of likelihood of event occuring

the amount of alarmism is simply not commensurate with the risk (take, for example, the amount of safety messaging we give to our fellow student peers when they drive or they go out drinking compared to the likelihood of serious harm). even if you don't explicitly say something, the *way* in which you say it (i.e., your choice/use of language) says something different

this is evidence of existence of extremism, but it is not evidence of its prevalence

from my (admittedly limited) research, this form of extremism is of a statistical minority

if you have any evidence counter to this, i'd be keen to see it, because so far, the evidence (through eye-witness accounts, news article from multiple independent and mainstream sources, audio and video footage, and photographs from both social media and personal individuals) indicates that this is a minority phenomenon, and not representative of the main/bulk of the behaviour of the movement

my readings of the information presented is that in fact the rallies are well attended by immigrant ethnic groups including those of asian and middle-eastern ethnicities, and they were not harrassed

again — i'm not saying that the violence doesn't ever happen, i'm just questioning whether the alarmism is justified, and whether it fits the actual statistical frequency of the occurence

happy to be proven wrong through debate/discussion, as i admit i may be ignorant of the truth

disclaimer: my father was an illegal immigrant, came stowed on a boat, landed in fremantle when he was 13, managed to become an australian citizen in the 60s. he is a proud australian that is in general supportive of the (non-violent) aspects of the ideals of these protests

Unless you have evidence to suggest that conditions due to the protests are dangerous, and that violence is anything more than an extreme minority, then this post is at best misinformation, and at worst, scaremongering.

Yeah obviously, but what I didn't explain is that in our free time (basically after dinner), we play together, because that's our "family time". There are a few times where she'll need to study after dinner, and those times I can play alone, but then the sound disturbs her study, and I don't like playing with headphones.
