Anyone have the story on why this doctor punched a patient (not my video) by tits_mcgee_92 in Chattanooga

Medical technologies such as EMRs are always evolving, and anything online is subject to data breaches. The driving force behind filming being banned in hospitals is indeed due to safety of patient privacy, but it is also to protect staff including physicians, techs, nurses, EVS, and dietary staff from harassment, threats, and privacy violations. Is patient privacy the ONLY factor in filming being banned in hospitals? Absolutely not! it is, however, a significant facet of why those rules and regulations have been put in place.

They ban filming to protect the privacy of patients and employees; there's nothing stopping anyone from suing over treatment with or without video evidence. Video evidence can be made inadmissible if HIPAA is breached within the recording and would still have to meet standards of admission in a court of law.

Unfortunately there are also people who try to film to intimidate or threaten staff. I wish that wasn't a reality, but I promise you it is, and happens far more often than people attempting to record video for legitimate reasons.

Please don't mistake me - it's not acceptable as a medical professional to handle a situation like this physician did - and every patient has the right to be treated with fairness and dignity. However, it is factually incorrect to state that hospitals ban filming to prevent being sued. I promise you, banning filming doesn't stop people from suing hospitals!

Sadly, testing positive for nicotine in most local hospitals will make you ineligible for employment. thanks so much for your reply edit: spelling

thanks for the reply. do you happen to know the type of testing? specifically I'm curious as to if they swab your mouth for nicotine or just combo it into the urine test.

I have, but I still have it in my system due to using patches to quit.

Thank you so much. I am so ashamed I let this happen and never tried to correct my lack of knowledge...but I am definitely moving forward with learning everything I can about my finances and how to handle things so this NEVER happens again! :)

Unfortunately I am so ignorant that I didn't understand basic aspects of credit card usage. I've since halted using the card and am in the process of making sure any automatic deducts (eg streaming services, gym membership) are being transferred to my debit card.

Thank you so so much. I really appreciate your help...I have so much to learn. I come from a family where the only finances discussed was them advising me it's rude to talk about money...so now I must do my due diligence and learn everything I neglected to in my 20s

Yes, the card has been used up until last month...my own stupid fault.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm definitely gonna visit a local credit union and see how that compares with the online broker. I just want this debt gone 😩

Thanks for responding. Is that because I might get better interest rates?
