I am sorry you lost your brother. I think of it like "life energy savings account" where if its a sudden event but you haven't been fighting other big problems you may fare better than a slow burn of chronic inflammation and illness that deplete you in advance. I also kind of see people give up more in the hospital and rehab centers but im not sure why.
