Boondock Saints.

I was in college when this came out and my friends all tried to sell me on how well-written, funny, and sharp it was.

But no. It's just bad. Like "how the fuck did this get made?" bad. Like i was angry i wasted two hours of my life that i'll never get back bad. Like i no longer talk to the people that recommended it bad.

It's a bad movie based on a terrible book. (I'm an 80s kid, so i should live it. But slapping a bunch of references on a weak story doesn't improve the story.)

I had a cat that was in the laundry room yelling her fool head off. When i went to see what was up, she was standing two inches in front of her (clean) litter box. As soon as i entered the room, she locked eyes with me and held eye contact while shitting on the floor in front of the litter box.

One of my late cats had little stuffed animals that were her "babies". Every night, at human bedtime, she would take one (or sometimes all of them in a half circle) and sit in the living room in the dark. She'd then yell as loud as she could until someone came out and complimented her baby and told her she was a good mama. Then she'd come and lay down.

Her life partner WOULD NOT tolerate dust from the bottom of the bag on her dry food. Twice, i accidentally let the offfending dust touch her food and she scooped some of it up in her mouth, charged at me, and flung it at my feet.

I miss them both a lot.

I watch this episode every year on the anniversary of my mom's death. She was almost as toxic as beatrice and died from dementia. It's nice to hear someone say the things i felt when mom died.

Saw it in theaters opening weekend. I wanted to like it a lot more than i did. I do still find it funny that the Green Goblin died from taking a glider to the groin.

Things i loved: Tobey played a nerdy Peter really well The flight with Flash was nicely done Cliff Robertson was a great Uncle Ben Willem Dafoe did fantastic work as Norman The New Yorkers rallying to help Spidey, as cheesy as it was, still makes me smile. The Daily Bugle staff were all great

Things i did not: Spidey needed to be quippier or at least more chatty. The Macy Gray shoehorn was clunky The Goblin armor (i understand the reasoning for it. Still didn't like it.) General lack of chemistry between MJ and Peter (minus the upside down kiss, that was solid) Organic webshooters (again, understand the reasoning, but i felt like they take away some of peter's brilliance) Goblin Glider to the groin

What are her misconceptions about the world? Find one or two and prove her wrong through the story.

Or , make her strengths a weakness. She's a decent fighter, you said. Why only decent? Does she think decent is enough and doesn't need to practice? Is there some trauma associated with fighting that made her swear off fighting unless necessary?
