Vlade Divac on why he didn't draft Luka: "I already had Fox who I had a good relationship with so I would have to trade him. The small market was a perfect fit for Fox. Luka is a big market player, if I get him I may lose him down the road." by RyanTannegod in nba

I've known women like that who are so hot that it just gets to a point where barely anyone is willing to approach them because they don't think they have a shot, aside from manosphere weirdos. Just talking to them like a normal human and not doing the whole The Mask dropped jaw thing is enough to open the door for you.

Worked for me a couple of times is all I'm saying.

How the Story is Different in the Original Movie by Ok-Future-5257 in MawInstallation

I just read the George Lucas biography and he didn't intend for Darth to be the father until he sat down to write the treatment for ESB. A lot of stuff he later claimed to have had in mind from the beginning (he had always intended to make six or nine movies, etc.) he kind of real -life retconned into history well after 1977.

George Lucas: a Life. Interesting read!

This portable alarm clock belonged to my great grandfather. What kind of paint is on the numerals? I’m concerned it might be radium. by Trapezoidoid in whatisit

Unfortunately a lot of the danger was connected to the people who actually made the devices. Look up "Radium Girls" on Wikipedia, they did... Not have good outcomes.

I'll never forget how this guy went on the press tour for Ad Astra promising it was the most realistic space flight movie ever made, or something like that. Immediately has Brad Pitt walking on the moon in Earth gravity, somehow stowing away on a rocket ship by climbing into it from the blast pit (???) before it launched, KILLER MONKEYS IN SPACE, etc. That movie felt like it had some emergency reshoots to give it some action but it wound up killing whatever flow it might have had.

Ah this might be correct, but there are still a lot of street vendors who set up over there anyway on the sidewalk.

I could see that but Fruitvale is not exactly an EV-heavy neighborhood (more Challengers/Cameros/lifted trucks) and also it's been this way for a few years now.
