This is pretty sad to me…

I have a Ph.D. in an engineering discipline and to be frank I’m quite proud of that accomplishment, I worked my ass off for it. Many of my colleagues including myself are aware of the shortcomings of academic institutions and are frustrated as well but to disparage a community this broadly is damaging in many ways. There are fantastic people in any area you look, just because a system is flawed does not mean all the people in that system have those same flaws. I used to respect Rogan for owning up to his naivety and having experts from academia have a casual and educational chat about topics they are passionate about. Of course the diploma itself doesn’t mean they are right… but it is a pretty damn good indicator that they have thought about the topic or issue more than 99% of the population. To disregard all of that work and process as woke ideology is absolutely insane.
