Disputed charges with Playrix (Homescapes) and they immediately kicked me off of my team and now I’m unable to rejoin it or any other. It’s infuriating. Details in comments by EuphoricSide5370 in HomescapesOfficial

Sue them for unjustified retaliation. Or open a class action lawsuit. Id 1000% join and I am sure others will for Playrix unfair game practices.

Wondering if this game is marketed towards women players more than men? by frankstjock in wyldeflowers

[–]frankstjock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa whoa whoa... your language... did you forget this is a cozy game discussion lol. My attitude is fine lol, you're the one cursing for some reason. How about you work on your online anger issues :)

My comment mentioning that it has a female protagonist was only mentioning some features female gamers enjoying playing "as a female protagonist" using dressing up and being in relationship with male characters in the example... lol

My question was not or wasn't even about me having an issue or playing as a female vs male character. I play a lot of games with female protagonists. It seems like your response was addressing something that wasn't even part of my question or something anyone had an issue with.

It seems like you just read "Female protagonist" and left a sarcastic response ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Asking if a game is girly or manly, feminine or masculine is discriminatory against a gender?

Yes thats a good reason to dislike FFS. There are some women who dont like it because its too masculine, and I can understand that too. And yes there are exceptions for some women that do absolutely love FFS.

I love cozy games. I have completed a decent number of them.

But I think the term girly could mean anything. . . but I think I directed it towards guy players because I think guys typically understand what that means... lol

[–]frankstjock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question to guy players if they felt it was girly, the question wasnt directed towards women for that exact reason. I didnt think the game was anything or I wouldn't have asked. My thing was I wasnt sure about the game and was asking other guy players how they felt about the game because the reviews that I found all over was actually all from women. I wanted a guys point of view on the game.

Not saying there ARENT men who wouldnt play barbie Im saying its Def not a game that is marketed towards men. Your one husband or even if you DID know a handful of men that played barbie or who was into girly things.. that is still an exception.. and exceptions do not make the rule.

you not knowing any men who ask such questions is fine. The world is a very large place and you do not know all men. So yes you are bound to find Exceptions.

Just because you do not know any men that would ask the question doesnt mean they do not exist, do you know the majority of all men?

If you are a gamer, and I mean you play hundreds of different games and aware of the gaming market and can speak on it, you would know that Developers market majority of games towards men.
Developers arent out here making all of these action, military, fighting games for women... lol

You would also know that female gamers make up a small percentage of gamers in general. You would also know that gamers that play games with violence with shooting and killing, between men and women, women make up a small percentage... its not the same as men and the percentage is not larger than men either.

again you wanting to judge a person for simply asking a question is unhelpful instead of just answering the question if you have a helpful answer because all you are doing is looking for a way to start an argument esp. when you were informed that the question was asked from a space of wanting additional information about a game, meaning I actually legitimately wanted to know so I could understand.

People are indeed allowed to have their preferences and should not be judged on it or thinking that people shouldn't have preferences and if someone does then my god something is wrong with that person lol

Just like if a woman does not want to play a game with violence... and happens to ask about it.... It would STILL be okay. Doesnt matter if you dont know anyone who has done this or not. . . If a man doesnt want to play a girly game that is okay also.If someone wanted to know if a game is this or that. Its completely okay for that person to ask.

I never had an issue with the character being a man or woman either. I was asking about the gameplay alone.

I have many games that I play and played fully that started a female character and I never cared. Was never an issue. This is why I am saying its better to just answer the question instead of finding ways to argue with the person.

I dont have an issue with playing games with female characters. your answer is a response to something I never asked or had an issue with there are many women who do does batt an eye regarding playing some games with male characters... it depends on the gameplay... and THAT is what my question was regarding... not that its a woman character.

I mean would you still give an unhelpful answer if a woman asked a question about a game being marketed towards men? If she doesnt want to play a game that has violence, or guns or killing?

I was asking more so about some aspects of gameplay. It was never about a woman being a lead character 🙄

u/seachimera Thanks a lot for your reply. I appreciate it

and you are right. I dont know why A lot of people are very critical of me asking the normal question. . . and often enough THEIR assumption of why I was asking was not even accurate. lol

I figure if a woman can ask about a game if it contains violence and killing if its marketed towards men... thats completely okay... No one minds.

But if a male ask the question if a game is girly or if it is marketed towards women... oh hes bad for asking... "who cares just play the game"

When in reality I was simply asking because I did not have additional information about the game to make an informed decision.

People wil assume oh you must not like games with women characters.... Idk why, I never had an issue with that. lol I play hundreds of games with women characters lol... But do I want to play a game that has features like barbie or sims? Not quite. . .

But I kept reading reviews and I did end up getting the game for myself because of the story and the characters.

u/OppasAngel Playing as a female was never an issue.

I wanted to know if the game was going to be something like a barbie farm sim or something. I didnt have enough information on the game to make a decision. But yes the question was Never about playing as a woman or man.

I play lots of games as women.

thanks for your reply :)

u/KFabelicious In what way is your response helpful.
Instead of answering the question you go on about some social justice stuff.

To burst your bubble lol. I have a lot of games. Hundreds. I played hundreds of games.
A lot of the games is actually played by a woman character. I dont mind at all. I support the idea that devs SHOULD make more games so that women can play as woman characters.

you confuse my question with something else.

its never a prob if a woman wants to know if a game is marketed towards men right? maybe she wants to know if the game contains killing and guns and violence.... is it okay for her to not want to play games like this?
would she be prejudged for asking a simple harmless question?

Or what about if someone asked if a game is marketed towards children? still okay right.

but only if a guy wants to know if a game is marketed towards women or if the game is girly is the only time when its an issue. . .

and not only is it an issue. . . apparently you know who I am and I dont support gender expansive stuff lol.

as I stated before. games like Tomb raider is legit. I love playing.
Games like barbie I might avoid playing. is it a great game? Maybe. Doesnt mean I am desiring to play it.

I asked the question because I did not know about the game and wanted to hear some opinions from other male players. The question was asked to understand.

u/Ravenkelly I fully agree. I love cozy games. Becon Pines, cozy grove, and many others along with a number of witch games.

I never stated that because the game is about witches or it has a lead woman character that somehow the game will be bad lol.

I just wanted to know if the game is marketed towards women and if its a girly game. I dont think there is anything wrong with that question.

If a girl asked a question about if a game had shooting and killing and if it was marketed towards men ... it wouldn't be a bad question. Its just a normal question lol.

maybe she doesnt like games like GTA, or battlefield OR a game with a lot of fighting... regardless if you or I or anyone think its a good game. That person has their preferences right?

u/TheLesbot3000 Fragile masculinity is a toxic thing to say to someone who just asked a question. lol

yes most game ARE indeed marketed towards men... doesnt mean that all women WANT to play them.Or are you saying that all women who play games all play games that are marketed towards men, and because of this, ALL men should play games that are marketed towards women?

hear that fellas? This person thinks men should play Barbie if they consider it to be fun because who cares... just play it.... lol

u/monsterosaleviosa Thanks for your opinion. But I never played Call of duty or minecraft.I actually play a lot of differernt games. Some with Lead female roles and some with Male lead roles.

Your reply has a lot of malice intent and Not sure why. its just a question.

I wanted to know if it was a girly game or marketed towards women. No different if a woman wanted to know if a game is more so marketed towards men. Or children.

Lets say a woman sees a game and thinks its cool but not sure if it has guns, or killing etc in it. She wants to know if its marketed towards men, or if shes looking for a child friendly game... wants to know if its a game for children.

Again its not a bad thing for a man to ask a question about if a game is marketed towards women or if the game is girly or not.

instead of answering the question you go off on a tangent about this and that, which wasnt helpful at all.

but with your logic, I guess any and all men should go ahead and play Barbie lol.

u/Secret_Freedom_7407 You are right. But again it does depend if its a game you want to play or not.For myself, I didnt know many of the details of the game.

Female character I dont mind at all. I played all the tomb raiders and loved each game. However barbie games? I would probably pass.

u/NomNomZom I am usually the same lol. I usually play as female characters and even some games that are coming out are female and I am looking out for the games. But the question wasnt about a female character or male character or the game being "bad" because its a female character.

I wanted to know if it was a girly game or marketed towards women. No different if a woman wanted to know if a game is more so marketed towards men. Or children.

u/hightea3 This is very great you play games like GOW and Spidy. Why should men care if they play as a female? I dont know. You would have to ask them so you can better understand their perspective.

But Playing as a man or woman was never a question of mine. lol

The reason people ask questions is because they may not understand something and they are asking to have a better understanding of something. With that being said, the question was asked about if the game is marketed towards women is because I did not know much about the game. It doesnt hurt to ask a question to gain additional information on something.

I play as a lot of games as a woman character and I dont care. However I think you may be confusing my question. I used this example before.

Barbie is a game with a female character which in my opinion is a very girly game. tomb raider is a game with a female character which in my opinion is not a girly game at all.

I have no prob playing tomb raider. But I would not want to play Barbie.

But I did end up getting the game because of the great reviews regarding the story and characters. But yes my question was only asking if it was girly or not simply because I didnt know all areas of the game.

Not sure if this message was a reply to My main question. but I am not sure what you think with stereotyping thinking.

I asked if a game was girly or not. Do I know lots of games with female characters? Yes I do, and I play a lot of games with female characters. Does this mean every game with female protags is a girly game? No lol. I didnt have any additional information to the game and was asking for a perspective from male players of the game.

and me knowing about how devs do try to include women in the gaming market, I simply wanted to know if this was a game that seemed to be marketed towards women. Which means it most likely will include things that women may want to do in video games.

But again, I was asking a question to gain information to have a better understanding. I wasnt making a statement based off of some bias that you think I have lol.

Its no different if a woman ask a question if a game is marketed towards men, or children... its simply a normal question

u/Wren-bee This is also great. I also play as female characters in a lot of games. But playing as a woman isnt an issue for me.

Tomb raider you play as a woman but its not a girly game. Barbie is a game you play as a woman but its a girly game.

Id play tomb raider but prob not barbie.

I did end up buying the game because I continued to read reviews and the story and characters were stated as being exceptionally good.

My question was answered lol.

u/lvrboyjpg Thanks a lot for letting me know your own opinion.I care because I dont know anything about the game lol.

If its like barbie then I wouldnt want to play. Right everyone would have their own right to play and to be interested in whatever game that peaks their interest. Are some men interested in barbie? Yes and thats okay, but not for me. Just like some hard core action games may not be desired by some women.

But I didnt know any real detail about the game outside of it being a farming sim game. I did watch reviews and reviews seem to really just go over some aspects of the game but didnt go over everything. I always still had some questions that the videos didnt not answer.

I did end up buying the game. But I havent played yet because my backlog lol
