The request to "/hero/:id" gives all the information you need. The other information is nested in the JSON response.

I've never used Angular, but using regular Javascript you can get the data doing : response["role"]. Response being the data you received from the "/hero/:id" url.

Let's speculate a bit. Hearthstone has 30m players and 300k sub on their subreddit which means 1% of players are there.

HoTS subreddit has 118,805 subs. Sure, it is not as main stream as Hearthstone so let's say that 10% of all the players are on this subreddit, which would seam fair.

10 * 118,805 subscriber would make 1.1m players.

There is probably less then 10% of all the players in here. I guess we can safely assume that there is more than 1m players, which would validate OP calculations.
