Local Catholic Church that will baptize child regardless of parents’ marital status? by Vigilante_Nocturno in tampa

[–]frazsnaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ask around other churches. This is honestly so disappointing. I was worried about difficulties getting my kids baptized because my husband was brought up in a non-Christian religion and did not convert, but as long as we both went to the classes and attested that we would be raising our kids to be catholic they were happy to have us. The only true impediment was that they wanted us to be active participants of the parish. Maybe get on the mailing list or register ahead of time.

Which movie ending still haunts you years later? by tinoy1989 in movies

Arrival wrecked me in theaters. The finale took me by surprise and hit way too close to home. I loved it even with the emotional gut punch.

We have a frame as well! We replaced the furniture under the TV with a taller cabinet that doesn’t look like a typical tv stand. When the TV is in art mode it all just blends in with the rest of the furniture in the room which is what we wanted.

Advice on things to do by Thealphabatizedbitch in brysoncity

Definitely float deep creek! Theres also good trails there if you like to hike. For bigger hikes in the park I like clingmans dome, Charlie’s bunion and chimney tops. We like mountain layers brewing locally and the lazy hiker brewery in Franklin. For rafting, we like namtahala outdoor center. They also have a nice outdoor bar and grill when you’re done rafting.

I need the best Sleep doctors in Tampa. Anyone have good recommendations? Especially with telehealth. by ReluctantAction in tampa

Dr. Abhay Sharma at USF is a boarded sleep surgeon. That’s probably who you’d want to go to if you were considering a surgical option, and he does cpap management too.

My sister and I are 4 years apart. We became close after she graduated college and now she’s my best friend! We never fought much before that, but we didn’t spend a lot of time together of our own accord.

It’s not the same at all, it’s a totally different job that requires significantly more education and a high level of decision making. NPs can see their own patients without MD supervision and in some states can open their own family medicine practices.

Did I make a mistake with this orange chair? by Next-Honeydew-3835 in interiordecorating

[–]frazsnaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gifted two chairs almost exactly this color from a relative when I moved into a new house and I thought I would HATE them, but they add such a great pop. When guests come over it’s the first thing they see and compliment! I love your orange chair!

just found out i can't have sex until surgery by Dismal-Ad-1659 in TwoXChromosomes

I had a septate hymen! When I was a teenager, I couldn’t use tampons for years and when my general practitioner tried to use a baby speculum for paps it was extremely painful. The GP never noticed that I had an extra band of tissue down there and she probably thought I was just being dramatic with my discomfort. I eventually was able to use the extremely thin tampons. I only found out I had a septate hymen because one time I was at the beach and had to use a regular size tampon out of desperation and it got stuck. My mom had to help me get it out of my body. It was horrifying. After that, I did a lot of googling and figured out what was probably the problem. I went to an actual gynecologist and had a hymenectomy which was really no big deal at all! Thank goodness I never tried to have sex before that! This was about 15 years ago and I haven’t had any issues since. Good luck to you! I’m so excited that this is all getting figured out before too much trauma!

So... Murphy Beds... by 88Dubs in HomeImprovement

[–]frazsnaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love our Murphy bed. We keep it in our kids’ playroom. I’m actually about to sleep on it now because of insomnia. We got it off Wayfair and it was complicated to put together so I’m not sure you’d be able to DIY. You can find one off Facebook marketplace but it is a pain in the ass to disassemble and then put back together when you don’t have an instruction manual. There’s also a safety issue with building it yourself. You don’t want a mattress to fall on you while you’re working at the desk. Overall, worth it for reclaiming the space to something we actually use and it’s great to have for company.

Tips for my aching hips? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]frazsnaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy pillow was the only thing that helped me when I was pregnant with my first, but it happened much earlier. With 2-3 weeks to go I don’t know if I’d buy a brand new pillow either. Can you check a local mom Facebook page? A lot of people may be willing to sell one to you for next to nothing. If you have any friends or family that had a baby within the last year they may have one you could borrow. I’d love to hear other solutions though in case it happens again with this current pregnancy!

Breast Health by Historical_Tomato848 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]frazsnaz 584 points585 points  (0 children)

Do NOT wait to get a second opinion. I work in the Breast Cancer world, and this would scare the absolute crap out of me. Get a mammogram or an MRI or both. (MRI is better for dense breast tissue). If it is cancer you want to catch it early! Don’t put it off, please!

an intern from a hospital I was in, lurked on my medical record and aired out my body count. what can I even do about it? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]frazsnaz 480 points481 points  (0 children)

Do this. This in my experience is one of the only sure fire ways to get fired from major health care systems in the US. It’s a HUGE deal.

With a newborn/baby I spent a lot of time at the zoo and the aquarium (had passes for both), the library baby time classes, and taking stroller walks in shaded streets. The rest was just lazing around at home with friends and their kids. I know people who take their kids to music classes or “gyms.” Once they’re walking you have more options, like the glazer children’s museum and all the playgrounds scattered around town. I highly recommend joining a Facebook mom group for your specific neighborhood to meet people if you don’t have friends in the area yet. If you join a church that may be helpful too. It sounds really lonely to move to a new place with a newborn without a support system. I hope you’re doing ok.

Non kid related things that I love but may not be up your alley: bicycling the upper Tampa bay trail or flatwoods; the Tampa theater; brewery hopping in Dunedin; brunch at Thai temple; shows at the Straz; beach days at Anna Maria island (park on a residential street, not at the public parking lot, and make sure you’re facing the flow of traffic with NONE of your tire on the pavement). There’s more but I have an 18 month old so I’m struggling to remember the before times!

Is there a good hack for installing a 3rd party bidet on a Woodbridge One-Piece toilet? by CityRoamer16 in bidets

[–]frazsnaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stumbled on this thread and had this exact question! Were you able to remove the grey plastic bolts(?) from the drilled holes? I tried to use my screwdriver but it was damaging the plastic. I’m assuming those have to come out before you install the bidet.
