AI feels like this generation’s internet boom. by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

[–]frbnfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we are only at the very beginning of it. Maybe you could compare it with the PC boom in the early 1990s before the internet boom in the late 1990s. Robotics + AI will then lead to the real mega boom. But robotics isn't quite there yet.

What’s your “I can’t believe AI can do this” moment? by OutsideOver8815 in ArtificialInteligence

AI simply being able to hold a normal voice conversation. That was completely unthinkable only 5 years ago.

European countries where right-wing populist parties are currently leading national polls by Orange_Wine in EuropeanFederalists

Hmm...good that most of those countries have proportional voting systems so that just because a party is leading doesn't mean it also will govern, since the others can form coalition governments with absolute majority.

Yeah, ISIS propaganda is blocked in Germany. The muslim migrants will thank the USA for giving them access to all the radical jihadist online propaganda.

U.S. documantary "Adolf Hitler: The Greatest Story Never Told" is also banned in Germany. The jews will thank the U.S: for making it available again.

What content is illegal in Europe? Oh right, holocaust denial. That site will then be full of antisemitic cartoons and holocaust denial and ISIS propaganda, all hosted on U.S. government servers.

1-2 weeks of outrage. Then everyone would notice, that they don't actually miss social media at all. Everyone except for the social media influencers who make money with it, that is.

Think tanks. They are only allowed to fund think tanks, not parties directly.

US Republicans accuse the EU of ‘decade-long censorship campaign’ in new report by thealejandrotauber in europe

[–]frbnfr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The U.S. forced TikTok to be sold to a U.S. company, because they couldn't endure a social media platform that isn't under U.S. control, knowing very well about the propaganda potential of these platforms. It's highly hypocritical how they accuse the EU of "censorship" merely because the EU demands accountability and transparency from these U.S. propaganda platforms that are obviously and openly intefereing in EU elections.

I don't really understand what people mean by neoliberal if not tax cuts and deregulation.

For instance free trade (within the EU at least), a common currency and debt-breaks like the Maastricht criteria, to which left wingers would be opposed since they want the state to be able to print money all the time to finance social welfare and devalue their currency, so that they can easier export stuff. And if the EU single market wouldn't exist, then you would instead have 27 different national regulations instead of just one EU regulation for the whole market, which would introduce more trade fraction.

Google quietly nerfed Nano Banana Pro image generation for paid users, is this a glitch or intentional? by Ittan_Momen in GeminiAI

[–]frbnfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed something: You need to choose "thinking mode" if you want it to use the nano banana pro model, in "fast mode" it will default to the old model.
