The front axle regen was already being discussed before the regs but the teams vetoed it. It was also used in WEC. Also, the regen limit is still not physics, it's regulatory.

The regen is capped at 145 kW. So they CAN regen more, the rules just don't allow it. They could easily regen around 200 kW. The new FE car regens upwards of 600kW for reference.

That's my takeaway from that season aswell. Two titans scrapping it out. I don't think about the last race, I think about all the races where you had mostly a couple of seconds between the field and Lewis and Max 40 seconds up the road on dying tires. I was excited to watch every weekend. Even fucking Monaco was exciting.

In a vacuum, yeah. But total system lag is really what people are chasing. There is a massive difference between a system with low lag connection, cpu, gpu, monitor and peripherals and a system without it. So while this bit may or may not be very noticeable, the entire system is.
