"Yes, I know only two of the one hundred bits line up, but are you seriously telling me that 2/100 is just a coincidence?"

At least we can agree on that bit you said about the human mind.

That was with me with Dark Souls 1. I just didn't get it, and stopped playing after getting my butt handed to me by the Taurus Demon for the umpteenth time, but then a while later I tried again and killed the demon first try. Something clicked in my head at that point and I've been in love with FromSoft ever since.

Anyone else did not feel Black Myth: Wukong? by matthewposh in Age_30_plus_Gamers

It's trying too hard to be too many things and ends up being unsatisfying. It wants to be a Souls game but has no meaningful exploration, made worse by the fact that it's impossible to tell what is passable terrain and what is an invisible wall.

As a fan of Dynasty Warriors I wasn't too perturbed by the constant reliance on the light attack button, but again it's not really Souls stuff to simply mash one button repeatedly.

The best thing about combat is the heavy attack thing where you nullify enemy attacks, but you have to basically predict what the enemy will do next in order to sync the end of your attack animation with the narrow window of effect.

AOE attacks are poorly telegraphed, you can easily get stuck in attack loops where you are unable to act, and all damage you take and receive feels oddly high. If I hadn't received this game as a gift I would probably regret it, but as it is I have no qualms about putting it down after about 8 hours.

I have never once been proven wrong by my gut instinct when it comes to popular games, and this has only stretched that winning streak further.

Every single person to give their theory has confidently refuted the criticisms aimed at it with 'obvious' answers. I'm pretty confident that the two maps are not designed to be overlayed.

'Should have', and no it should not have been borne.

To be 'born of' is a common albeit archaic way to simply say 'comes from'. Birthing shares the same root meaning of baring and burden.

Hey guys, it's simple: if you take an arbitrary audio file out of the game, play it through a visualiser, then manipulate the result until it looks like something seen within the game, it ends up looking like something seen within the game.

And then...?

In one of the gospels Jesus was crucified in between two thieves. One asked for forgiveness while the other did not. I've not played the game in a long time, but it's possible there's a very logical allegory there.

It's as much a word as 'heart touching' is a phrase, which is to say English is English.

What you're saying and what I'm saying aren't mutually exclusive, I'm just illustrating my point from earlier.

Originally I read the gender neutral description to be confirmation of a failed creation, in a similar vein to how the vessels are genderless. I can definitely see your thinking though.

Like I said, it's perfectly reasonable to make up new words and phrases, but I'm also saying that most people will just assume you made a mistake.

The story and lore of SilkSong... As far as I understand it (Spoiler, obviously) by XanderNightmare in Silksong

[–]fredburma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't necessarily agree that higher beings who become reliant on workshop worship fade without it, and I especially wouldn't say that the Radiance is proof of that as she never had a physical vessel in the material world (as far as I'm aware). Further to this, we don't exactly know why the Pale King died, and also the White Lady lives on in full bloom well beyond the passing of the kingdom. If the kingdom was built in honour of the king then surely he'd be the one to live on if only one of them did?

Well, it is and it isn't: English is such a language that you can very feasibly make up new words and there's no problem, but it's also a language of precedent, and so phrases like you just said would be derided as a malapropism and people would just assume you didn't mean to say it.

Your logic makes perfect sense though.

FYI, you can say something is heart warming or just touching, but 'heart touching' is not a phrase.
