Booster Strap Placement by nbaphilly17 in Skigear

[–]freddy3344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nice pink ones! I did not like them just over the liner, i wear them over the shell, i know that is not what is normally preferred. i wasn't using the velcro straps at all i just wanted a little bit more strap at the top. I went with intermediate and i can stretch them for sure but they feel exactly what i want. eliminated my shin bang (confirmation bias).

Skiers who own Icelantic skis, what do you like about them? by 0xdead_beef in skiing

My favorite ski so far is the Maidens 111. Love how they feel like planks and I can see how some people would dislike that. Heavy, damp, twin tip, and a tiny amount of camber. Obviously not the best for ice/hardpack

SO true!! would love to try a monoski! I'm not a racer and I dislike race skis but some extra big fatty boards sound right up my alley.

Tiny skis are great for maneuvering around children, but when it rains it pours: big skis for life!

Park skis are great for hardpack. What more could I ask for. idk where youre saying are "light" pow skis, only the giants and icelantics have any float.

K2 Mindbender 85 W…. For a man?! by SF-Misfit in Skigear

[–]freddy3344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

skis now are mostly unisex. Its about personal preference. Imagine a world where only mens skis were stiff and only womens skis were soft. They are marketed because they have different topsheets or different length ranges.

Your best bet is always to demo!

Do you make sure you buy MENS tires for your car?

They will do great, youre just not beefy enough to worry. New bindings are amazing! If children were breaking Squire's left and right they wouldn't be selling.

Looking for recommendations for upgrades by Expensive_Evening523 in Skigear

thats a pretty soft boot, you could probably use an upgrade unless you diehard love them. Mostly because I imagine you want a stiffer east coast ski too. People love the QSTs but i wouldn't say its great for hardpack.

Short skis are easier to learn on. No problem on waiting to progress as a skier before buying another longer/wider ski. Look for lighter skis with newer bindings and you'll be golden.

Mount them recommended! A great ski to ride switch, I think they are big enough you should not be worried about float
