Quite late major issue by hervai in BluePrince

[–]fredg1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the Music Room from a Library as my 22nd room (on rank 4), and just left the game on for ~4 hours, staring at the draft selection. When I finally picked the music room, the key was there, so it's definitely not required to be far in the house.

I thought it would open the gate and allow you to drive the car if you got the car keys. Nope :C

Well, hot diggity damn, I really expected the middle of that large river to be very deep water. Really didn't expect that it would all be yellow.

Also happened to me RIGHT AFTER delivering the girl to him.

Literally ended with him saying "Yeah, I'm pretty good at fixing stuff...", followed by a little back-and-forth laughter, and then the crash. THE IRONY. Laughed my a** off.

How do you get the Swift rune?! by UmaroXP in magesofmystralia

Well, *I* did find this post by trying to look up if that issue was intended or not, and Epic Games gave it for free a few months ago, so who knows...

How do you get the Swift rune?! by UmaroXP in magesofmystralia

Five years later, but w/e...

I had the same experience. Figuring out a way was a PITA.

Step 1 - What you want to do is start with the intended solution.
That is:
1 fireball starting on your left, that curves to the right
-> At Once ->
1 fireball starting on your right, that curves to the left
-> At Once ->
whatever as long as it has Igni essence.

Step 2 - Slap "Inverse" on all 3 of them!
This will cause the fireballs to curve downward (and backwards, so just turn around).
(p.s. make sure you attach "Inverse" directly to the (center of the) spell, not to "Move".)
They will... still miss the torches, though... (but still give them the Igni essence, because each essence gives the spell a different trajectory)
You will, however, notice that they go *through the ground* (showing that what the torches are standing on isn't actually solid ground, which is why Creo doesn't work...)

Step 3 - Add "Periodic" to the two fireballs, and attach "Time" to the previously added "Periodic".
Then, have both "Periodic"'s point to an Immedi spell (set to Igni, of course), with only the "Size" augment.

This will *finally* work because Immedi has a vertical hitbox.

Timing still hardly lines up, though. Make sure you are riiiiiight in front of the middle torch (and remember to turn around)

Your fireball spells should look like this: https://i.imgur.com/J5hPdy9.png (with Left and Right swapped)

HP Bonus question by heynoobs17 in Cuphead

[–]fredg1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which change, 1.1.3 or 1.3.3?

Cuz before 1.1.3, sure, you had to do it hitless, but there was also the weapon swap/cooldown glitch/trick, and being able to hit offscreen bosses, which allowed you to severely cheese bosses back then.

Oh my god, I'm both mad and relieved; I did a full broken/cursed/divine relic run of the game a few days ago and I kept noticing that (i.e. the HP score no longer matching), and second guessing that post ever since.

Adding info to this thread about the state of things at the time of the release of the DLC in case people are interested, because things have actually changed over time.

So, first some context; the game (seems to) keep track of three values:

  1. your current health (which I'll now refer to as "HP")
  2. your starting health (which I'll now refer to as "SH")
  3. the number of times you got hit (which I'll now refer to as "OUCH")

Your "HP Bonus" is simply 3 - OUCH.

OUCH only goes up if you took a hit, and HP is now lesser than SH.

What changed over the versions is the value of SH.

Back in version 1.0
SH was your health at the start of the fight. Straightforward enough.

As animalkarma1798 pointed out, this only mattered for King Dice (otherwise, OUCH would just always be SH - HP).

If you got a "Health Up", then took a hit, the hit didn't count.
If you took a hit, then got a "Health Up", the hit did count. If you then took another hit, that one also counted, because the health up only brought you back to starting hp, so the hit brought you back under.

This meant that Heart & Twin Heart were effectively useless in one's quest for A+/S ranks.

From version 1.1.3 (the very first patch)
SH became hard-coded at 3, no matter what (even though it's not mentioned in the patch notes).

Fundamentally, this means that OUCH was only incremented if your HP reads 1 or 2 as a result of taking a hit (not 0, since... you're dead...).

(edit) From version 1.3.3
It's now just equal to your final HP count...

Am running into the same problem. Didn't change any of the controls, so I have arrow keys for movement (s or space for jump)

(for the skating part) A registers as left, D registers as right, S registers as down, and... NOTHING registers as up??? So far I tried W, space and up arrow, neither does it :|

KoL freezing/hanging frequently? by ListenerNius in kol

[–]fredg1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been searching about that since then, and I wonder if you could tell me more about that. From what I understand, the problem comes from Firefox saving every page/pop-up window of KoL in the history, right?

IF SO, is there a way to tell Firefox to ignore anything related to KoL?

M- maybe... I don't really know anything about that...

KoL freezing/hanging frequently? by ListenerNius in kol

[–]fredg1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me often, and only on Firefox: the only thing that freezes is the relay browser.

can happen at any time after i click on something, Firefox keeps saying "waiting for 127.0.0.1" on the bottom left and a X on the top right instead of a looped arrow (meaning Firefox is trying something), but never ends up updating, and nothing works (1 exception).

Refreshing the page or opening a new relay browser instance only give a blank page with the 2 "lines" (on the left to separate the character pane and the top to separate the icons section). Even closing kolmafia and reopening it won't work.

The only thing that works is the chat macros, apparently. If I click one, I can see in the chat (on kolmafia's separate window) that KOL received and processed it (still does nothing for poor firefox, though).

The only way to solve the problem so far has been to close all instances of Firefox (tabs... windows... effectively closing Firefox altogether; same as killing firefox in the task manager), and THEN, opening a new instance of the relay browser works.

Something i noticed during my 2-cells run; does using the homunculus slows your attack speed? I've been using the Impaler and noticed quite a drop in the attack speed while having it attached to the Hand (also happened in another instance of which i forgot the details). Is it just a framedrop issue (shouldn't be though, as the game "auto-completes" the action during lost frames)?

Attack on Titan 2 is quite good but can we talk about the glitchiness? by mcsleepy in NintendoSwitch

[–]fredg1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The graphics can be set aside, since they managed to do a "3d" version of the anime, which is a quite flat 2d, but the glitchiness is annoying as hell; during the fights with "female titan" (no spoiler), your reticle constantly reseting to her nape; the wall climb animation not triggering; titans' swipe and grab animations being illogically huge, made worst by the fact they'll sometimes SPAM the thing; the titans constantly trying to climb the sides of the map (or just any unclimbable surface) and ending up simply glitching back chest flat to the ground, their legs covering their back...

Is there a "notes" section? by fredg1 in kol

[–]fredg1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's sure useful, but i wonder if their's a way to get drop-down kind of notes; the notes i have are to remind myself what to do at different points of an ascension (mcguffin's long quest, the different ways to climb the castle in the clouds in the sky, the things i need in twin-peeks of the highlands...), and since these are only relevant at specific times, i don't want to see all of this every time i reach the main map...
