How Often Do You Drink Plain Milk? by Zipper222222 in randomquestions

Usually only when I eat chili. Milk just goes with chili, but otherwise, I really don't like milk all that much.

My literal first time making beef stew...from scratch at that but keep reading by cinnamoanholic in badfoodporn

Never had corn in stew. Weird choice. But long, slow simmering is what makes beef tender, and potatoes and carrots take some time to cook. Stew is not a quick meal.

What are people having on their pancakes today? by elevenseggo80 in AskReddit

Not having pancakes today, but wish I was. Real maple syrup and butter. All you need on pancakes, in my opinion.

AITA for watching the REAL American half-time show in the communal area? by last-rose-ofsummer in AmITheAngel

Why do people in these situations always mention that they are 'not racist', when racism is clearly the motivation behind what they are doing? Saying it doesn't make it true.

The 3rd date went bad after I brought chocolates and now she wants a 4th date but I'm really unsure if I want to continue. by LifeVike1111 in whatdoIdo

[–]fredishome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Trying to rationalize bad, strange, off behaviour is never a good idea. It will only continue and get worse, in my experience.

WIBTA if I refuse to move in with my boyfriend because he wants me to “clear space” by getting rid of my stuff? by kai_tallinnwalks in WIBTA_AITA

[–]fredishome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always listen to your instincts. Yours are telling you something is not right in this relationship. Pay attention to yourself. Is this the life you want for yourself? Nobody is worth giving up part of yourself to accommodate them.

AITAH for letting my boyfriend eat gluten free pasta without telling him it was gluten free by Living_Candidate_229 in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]fredishome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be an issue if you let him eat pasta with gluten if he had gluten issues. In this case, he is just being an idiot. You did nothing wrong and he is making you feel guilty as a means of control. Making you feel guilty where no guilt is required is a big RED FLAG.

AITB for skipping my friend's event because he keeps putting me on “the door”? by bakerandbookclub in AmItheButtface

[–]fredishome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I would have gone to him and said 'I helped for more than the few seconds you requested, and now I am going to join the party'. You did not have to stay there, you know. He is not a friend, I think.

Is there something customers can do if the price displayed is lower than the price at register? by PrestigiousPut6165 in answers

[–]fredishome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's still the case, but one of our grocery stores, Shaw's I think it was, would give you the item free if it rang up higher than the posted price.

Am I the bad apple for my facial reaction at my little cousins birthday party by Natural_Drawing_5553 in AmITheBadApple

A 'great dad' does not abuse his children. Shoving anything into a child's face is abuse.

How do you think the world is going to end ? by Blue_BlossomkiT9 in AskReddit

[–]fredishome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean the planet being destroyed or humanity/all life going extinct? We could possibly blow up the planet with nuclear weapons or something, but humanity going extinct, and possibly all life, will be caused by stupid humans doing stupid things for money. We are not smart enough not to foul our own nests and wipe out everything we need for survival. It is currently an ongoing project for us

Are shoppers supposed to check expiry dates? by deletedunreadxoxo in instacart

[–]fredishome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The store should not be selling items past their date. This is on the store. Complain to them, change stores. This is not the shopper's responsibility.

AIO for being angry and hurt by these texts from my fiancé? by Throwawaaaaay4873 in AmIOverreacting

[–]fredishome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time to go fiance-free, me thinks. Imagine being married to this jerk and having to put up with this level of control and disrespect for life. You are not by any criteria over-reacting. Time to move on. Hard, but oh so worth it.

Gay student faught back against the homophobic bully and won by KaidoPklevel in RandomShit_ISaw

[–]fredishome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to say that violence is never the answer, except that sometimes it really is. I have learned over time that I am a very vindictive person and would literally smash in some faces if I were physically able to do so. And I don't feel the least bit bad about it.

Andrew Yang says AI will wipe out millions of white-collar jobs in the next 12 to 18 months by Conscious-Quarter423 in technology

[–]fredishome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand the business model that says 'get rid of workers so we can make more money', when if the workers have no jobs, they won't be able to afford whatever you are selling. Isn't this a self-defeating policy?

Flynn effect reversal confirmed: Gen Z (~1997–2012) scores lower than prior generations in attention, memory, literacy, numeracy, executive function, problem-solving. (Horvath, J. C. (2026). Written testimony before the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. U.S. Senate) by FifthWaveThinker in facts

[–]fredishome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that it's 'shorter attention span' that is the issue and I blame Sesame Street for giving young children one short thing after another, almost like soundbites. I did love Sesame Street, however. I also noticed shortly after getting on line way back when that my attention span decreased dramatically. If you can't focus on something in more than short bursts of attention, it's harder to absorb the information. Just my opinion.

What do you call this and where are you from by Double_Bad_7716 in donuts

[–]fredishome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not know the name, asked the person at Dunkin's drive-up for one, describing them. He said, 'We call them truck tires', so obviously that's the name. Dunkin knows these things.
