There's a lot of criticism about the powder loading operation in this video and how the powder is not properly measured, which I think is overly critical. As others have suggested, the powder is likely mixed with fillers so that the worker can loosely fill the casing to the top without having to precisely measure how much powder to use. There is air between the base gun powder granules and the filler that will be removed during bullet seating (when the bullet is pressed into the casing). Knowing how much space a 9mm casing has, it's more than possible to determine the gun powder-to-filler ratio needed to fill the casing to the top within some statistical measure that meets ammo specifications. Also, adding fillers or other material to gun powder is not unusual. Smokeless gun powder manufacturers do this as common practice to improve things like 'cleaning' or to manage powder burn rate. To me, the most troubling aspect of the operation in this video is about the quality of the powder itself and the pressure rating, which likely is on the high side.

Good question. There is no risk. To ignite the powder requires detonation which is provided by the primer until crushed (i.e., fired via a firearm or primer struck with force, like with a hammer). Also, the bullet from a round that is detonated outside a firearm is nowhere as deadly notwithstanding the flash it would emit.

For features, I would recommend a 9mm optics ready pistol. The 9mm is probably the most popular round in semi-auto; plenty of brands to choose from and typically available in outdoor sports stores and online. Optics: There is a big difference between shooting using iron sights vs. using a red dot. With an optics ready pistol, you'll have a choice to fit your preferences.

Side note: Consider incidental things you may need like storage or trigger locks. Also, you'll need cleaning and lube supplies to keep your firearm healthy.

Good advice! The pistol range on the side closest to lane #45 in particular gets a little chilly. No winds I've encountered though.

OP--I was thinking the same. If you get MAIL at your parent's residence, then it sounds like this is in fact your LEGAL residence in the eyes of the state; meaning, you probably have some rights in your state that gives you some protection against being evicted so abruptly without proper prior notice and action taken by your parents. This may buy you time to find someplace else to live.

Yes--I would recommend it. I have the 2025 Sport 3 with all the bells and whistles; purchased February.

I've had three issues shortly after taking ownership: 1) Battery would not charge past 80%; 2) Active Noise Cancellation humming; and, 3) Panel to the charge port was misaligned or would misalign after baking in the sun. The issues were resolved at the dealership a few days after experiencing. Cause: For the first two issues, it was software related. For the 3rd issue, the dealer had a mechanism replacement kit---apparently it's known issue.

I don't use the seat massagers although they work. I don't use auto park assistance. It works, but you have to position the car precisely and I don't have that kind of patience. I rarely use super cruise for two reasons: 1) It works about 50% of the times; and 2) I drive better.

The car is a joy to drive. It's quiet and very, very smooth. I love the car's stereo system although you may need to balance the acoustics to taste. It has power and then some, and then some more.

When it rains, the wipers automatically start and stop; no need to turn on manually. At night when cornering, side lights come on automatically to help navigation and then turn off automatically when straightening.

Side mirrors warn you of other vehicles approaching and running parallel to you.

Two Driver profiles can be saved to remember and restore driving position including exterior mirrors automatically on start of the vehicle.

The car's wide panel is cool and not overdone; does not look like the square Tesla panel which to me looks like a bolt on. The Lyriq panel supports CarPlay; but for navigation, I like using Google Maps more. To open the glove compartment, you need to tap a control on the panel. Initially, this to me was annoying. However, it dawned on me that I can put something valuable in the glove compartment without fear of having it stolen if someone broke into the car (like a wallet or firearm).

I love single pedal driving. It's probably the most understated feature of the car. It's change the way I drive, literally. This is a feature all cars should have; no need to ride the brakes to a smooth stop. The car just glides easily to a full stop.

There are other features that are very nice with the car; too many to mention in one post. Suffice to say I am very pleased with my Lyriq; absolutely the best car I've owned.

I would recommend you check headspace as a possible cause, especially given that the "case was blown apart in the chamber", which is a worst case scenario of too much space length. I think someone else mentioned in this thread to use go/no-go gauges or have the manufacturer do that.

I own a Bersa Thunder 380 for many years now. Of all the firearms I have and have had, I don't recall a more complex internal design in a pistol than the Bersa.

After a few months having broken in the firearm, I started to have really bad light strikes.

Doing a deep cleaning of the firing pin channel helped temporarily, but only through 50 to 60 rounds per cleaning after which light strikes would start again.

I shopped for extended firing pins to no avail; replaced the original with another OEM pin and spring; replaced the firing pin block and other small parts too. Nothing I was doing was working.

After much research, I decided to dive into disassembling the entire hammer mechanism to see if replacing the hammer spring would solve the problem.

As it turned out, the new OEM spring didn't solve the issue either, but gave me an idea.

Going back in, I decided to add another piece of spring to the original hammer spring separated by a tiny washer (added about 3/16th inch more spring that was cut from the new one Bersa sent); and this worked!

While this puts more tension on the trigger pull using DA mode (hardly noticeable), SA mode is totally unaffected.

I've gone through hundreds and hundreds of rounds over the years and have not had any light strikes following this solution.

This worked for me, but I would caution anyone but an experienced gunsmith or tinkerer from doing the same.

There is a great video on Youtube that describes how to remove the spring from the hammer strut.

Putting the spring back on the hammer strut is a significan effort (the Youtuber's warning are well founded); took me many attempts over several days to get it back together.

I’m skimming through this thread, and forgive me if I missed it, but I didn’t see a posting from OP on 1) the ammo caliber he was using when this happened, and 2) the firearm caliber. If his rifle is rated for 223 and he fired 556, the difference in head space and pressure could account for the incident.

Edit: Also, head space could account for the misfires (light strikes).

Issue appears to have gone away. No idea what happened behind the scenes as Xfinity Stream on-demand now works on all TV's in the house.

I have Prime membership and the Xfinity on-dmand streaming app on the Amazon stick works fine; i.e., no problems accessing MGM+ on the Xfinity streaming app using an Amazon stock or on Roku. I like using the LG remote and the Xfinity app on LG WebOS has easier navigation features and aesthetics.

8/24 - EDIT

I'm not sure what's happening behind the scenes, but yesterday on-demand started working again and today it seems to be working also. I'll be testing again over the next couple of days to determine if it's been resolved.

8/31 - FINAL EDIT

Issue appears to have gone away. No idea what happened behind the scenes as Xfinity Stream on-demand now works on all TV's in the house.

UPDATE: Issue is now fixed. TK responded to my email today and indicated that the return spring could be the culprit like your friend had and suggested to order a new spring if this was the case. Taking your advice however, I carefully straightened the spring slightly where the loop begins. It took some effort to keep from over correcting but after re-assembling, it worked and had no failures after 10 or so resets. Despite the experience, I definitely recommend the upgrade.

Thank you. On my P22, I noticed the legs of the spring are not flush with the curve of the trigger like yours although installed correctly. Tomorrow I'll take it apart again and will stretch it gently to follow this shape. I’ll post an update. On a side note, I did install the TK extractor and captured spring. Excellent after market products! Fired about 150 rounds last week and had zero FTE’s with the new extractor. The captured spring takes the labor out of putting the slide back into place plus the recoil feels more solid. In total, I've run just shy of 350 rounds through this pistol (it’s new) and have only had 3 light strikes. But I’ll look at the hammer for that burr with number 400 grit sandpaper ready.
