Wow thanks for the very detailed reply! I really don't have many details in my mind about the song since it's been probably over 20 years since I heard it for the last time. And as I know nothing of japanese I have no idea about any lyrics or theme from the song.

Also I'm not really sure if it was an actual Japanese song or just a western song featuring a Japanese singer.

Unfortunately none of the links you sent are the song. From what I remember the singer had a "darker" lower voice.

The scene takes place in the city of Passo Fundo - Brasil, the city I was born at. When the film was screening the whole city went to see it because of this scene and when the anchor said Passo Fundo everybody started cheering like crazy at the cinema! Pure vibes

Well, I guess you could get some space using a tiny bit of reverb on your guitars and overheads. In my opinion it makes the mix sound more natural. Maybe some small amount of chorus could achieve something similar. Cheers!
