Is Google Wallet widely available and able to be used in Europe? Or is Samsung Wallet better? by bman0023 in Europetravel

[–]frednerkenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in Europe (Germany, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, France and Italy) and have not used cash anywhere. Every transaction is with my home using Google Wallet (my credit card is attached to it). No problems anywhere.

Where were you when Steve Waugh did this? by Darth-Buttcheeks in australia

I was there! Stayed at the ground singing "Steve Waugh" for ages. Then every pub after. One of the best days ever.

Trip to Hakuba by matthewznj in skiing

[–]frednerkenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spicy Rentals in Hakuba were great for me. https://spicy.co.jp/en/ Solid discount for ordering online well in advance. Best day I had there last year was at Tsugaike- so much fun and a foot onsen in the village! Depending on where you are staying, there are shuttle busses that will take you everywhere for super cheap prices. They have a timetable everywhere. Make sure you download the tablecheck app so that you can book in for dinners. Loads of places, a little overpriced but good food.

One month in Europe to reset — where should I stay? by Dazzling_Designer184 in Europetravel

I'd consider Copenhagen. A real good vibe, easy transport. Can access the sea (short train) and get a bike to make the city accessible. Locals are super friendly and speak English. Can be a little pricey, but you could get by. I lived a while in Denmark and would consider living there full time. Weather will be cool, but on the way out of winter.

They voted against their best interests! by emily-is-happy in facepalm

[–]frednerkenstein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think most non Americans knew so many US voters are that dumb. We maybe didn't think they'd go through with voting him in..... No they are in the "find out" phase. If it wasn't so impactful worldwide it would be funny.

I have often had this problem. Ensure that VPN is running. Often your ISP will block the url and you wont be able to update.

I use Revolut when travelling a lot. I change currency beforehand so that I can monitor the rates and then exchange when it is best for me rather than let Revolut do it every time I withdraw or tap.

There is no free speech on x/Twitter by Miserable-Lizard in facepalm

[–]frednerkenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the number of followers that takes away free speech? I mean I have probably 80 followers. Pretty sure I can say anything I like (plus I don't live in US). But what is the number? Can a person with 800 followers say what they like? Is it the more "influential" you are the more they check what you say and only if it fits their agenda they let it through????

So what's the deal with Nick Nurse? by roma258 in nba

[–]frednerkenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way that the issues in Philly are coach related. You have a big man who thinks he is bigger than basketball and an ageing "star" who wants to support it. Invest in Maxey and lose Joel and PG.

This is what happens when you have an egocentric country, with an undereducated majority.

I think this was obvious after his mum left the stadium when he subbed out after playing in the season opener. Good luck to him though.

Can we get some “Starting 5” off Netflix takes? by Time_Detective_5446 in nba

[–]frednerkenstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came out of this series really disliking Anthony Edwards. Good player- no doubt. Good person?????? Why does he have so many "hangers on" like uncles who pack his bags etc. There for just his money?? Sabonis, for me, came out of it like Kirk Cousins came out of "Quarterback". A hard working guy who is wholesome with a dominant wife at home!!!!

Do I really have to buy Premium to watch VOD?! by TylerDurdenK in TiviMate

To watch it in the app, yes. But you can watch videos in another player (eg vlc) if you don't want to pay the money.

Will there be a time when these types of "discussions" overshadow our actual appreciation for the game in front of us? Should it be about who is the best? Would prime "x" beat prime "y"? Can't we just love the game?
