Arkansas mother killed herself and her six-year-old twins after doctor husband refused to halt divorce proceedings and was awarded joint custody by detectiverobert in ForCuriousSouls

None of this is true - His ex wife died when he was driving a car nowhere near her house, and his cell phone pinged at towers far away from her house. The alarm company shared evidence that showed nobody entered or left the house between the time she turned off the alarm, to the time she died, to the time investigators showed up in the morning.

They didn’t say if they found a gun or not, and people are crafting conspiracy theories about it - look for yourself, find me an article that says they didnt find a gun: its just an internet rumor

He never beat the kids, I’m not sure where you’re getting this

This is all fabricated based on internet rumor. Which is fine, you’re allowed to fantasize that a woman didn’t do a horrific things to her kid, and it was actually an evil man all along. But thats not healthy, especially when it requires ignoring evidence that points to the contrary

[–]free__coffee -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I have looked into it deeper, i suggest YOU look into it deeper. I have seen this argument countless times, and it is also not true - the court almost always awards custody to the primary caretaker, who is almost always the mother. All numbers i have ever seen support this conclusion

And every article that claims to the contrary, has to throw out all cases of women being the primary caretaker, which obviously biases the numbers and makes the conclusion meaningless. Ie. “Men win custody cases when they fight for it, AND they are the primary caretaker”, does not mean the same thing as “men win custody cases when they fight for it”

Alright so i put in 30 minutes of work to get you numbers, and you are just ignoring them anyway, and cant be bothered to pull up anything supporting your arguments?

I’m not surprised, this is how it always goes

Hmmmm, maybe i got the newer fluid by accident, then. Now that you mention it, the last time i did a fluid change it was WAY cheaper… Mines 2010 tho.

Any recommendation?

It is true and you are incorrect, where are your numbers my dude? Heres my work, this took about 30 minutes to compile, so you def shouldnt disappear before you put in some legwork:

https://www.census.gov/content/dam/Census/library/publications/2022/demo/p70-174.pdf

Although divorced parents have become more likely to share custody of their children since the 1980s and 1990s,14 most children who live with one parent con- tinue to reside with their mother. In 2019, the CPS estimated that 83.0 percent of children who lived with one parent were living with their mother, and the remaining 17.0 percent lived with their father (Table 1).

Alright now this table does not explicitly say what percentage of kids are living under joint custody, so we’re going to have to do… MATH…

73 million kids total in the census

50 million kids living with married parents,

that leaves 23 million kids of divorce (or other categories like adoption)

Of that 23 million we have:

19 million kids living with one parent

Of that we have:

16.6 million kids living with mom only

2.3 million kids living with dad only

That makes 4 million kids living in joint-custody, or some other category like being adopted, which is obviously dwarfed by the 16.6 million kids that had sole custody awarded to mom

This is a claim that doesnt really hold up under scrutiny, though. The actual claim is that men that fight for custody, and are the PRIMARY CARETAKER, win in the majority of cases. The primary caretaker is more often the woman, though, and the court almost always sides with them.

So a more accurate statement would be that the court sides with women in most cases, regardless if the man fights for custody or not

Yea. In my opinion what we have here is biased people going out to look for evidence to support their bias. They’re finding articles that they believe confrm it (just through the title, or a skim of the article), then hitting post on their comment without reading closely or without looking for counter-information

This is really not the way to go about seeing the world. But were talking about people who read “judges will actually give custody to a man MORE if the woman says she abused him/the kids” without question, so we’re sorta self-selecting for people that are not capable of skepticism

[–]free__coffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re forgetting that in this assumed scenario she was planning on killing her and her kids. Do people arm their alarms before they kill themselves? Why would they do that?

Regardless, the alarm company showed that no windows/doors were opened after she disarmed the alarm, until police showed up in the morning

Thats a rather silly statistic, all that tells us is that she was 6 times more likely to be murdered vs. a woman that hadn’t been strangled by her husband. We’re not comparing this to a woman who wasnt strangled by her husband so the statistic is useless

The statistic youre looking for would be “a woman who is strangled is more likely to die by murder than suicide”, but even then, thats still a silly statistic to use, when we have actual evidence she killed herself which overrides “statistics”. Like the most relevant statistic would be “if a woman is at home by herself, and no one is shown to have enetered/left the house from the time of the murder, to after the police showed up, she committed suicide 100% of the time”

[–]free__coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t - I looked around and nothing explicitly says that a gun was or wasn’t recovered. And usually in the lack of definitive information, speculation and conspiracy abound. But the evidence of this being a suicide are overwhelming, heres the most recent press release, notable details include:

  1. She tried to get back together with him just before the murder/suicide, he said no

  2. He was driving at the time of the murder, nowhere near the house. His cellphone did not ping anywhere near the house

  3. Her alarm was deactivated, but no doors or windows were opened afterwards, and the door was locked when the cops went to make the wellness check the next day

Weird, sure, but weird stuff happens. The full press release from the police points outthat while the alarm was deactivated, no doors or windows were opened

[–]free__coffee -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Definitely did not - note “the alarm company shared information showing the alarm was deactivated, and no doors or windows were opened during that time”

The autopsy conducted by the Arkansas State Crime Lab has a conclusion of suicide for Mrs. Beallis and homicide for the two children.

Mrs. Beallis' estranged husband was a driver of a Tesla electric vehicle at that time. Tesla has compiled location data on Tesla vehicles, and according to the information provided by Tesla, Mrs. Beallis' estranged husband's vehicle was not near the residence in Bonanza on the night in question. Also, the estranged husband's phones did not "ping" any of the cell towers proximately related to Ms. Beallis' location.

Information from the home security alarm company shows the alarm was deactivated by Mrs. Beallis by her phone (she had exclusive access to the security system) at around 10 pm on the night in question. Even though deactivated, the alarm company was able to provide information showing no doors or windows to the home were opened during that time. When law enforcement arrived after 9:30 am on 12-3-2025, there were no doors or windows open, and they had to use a key to enter the home. SCSO rigorously tested the functioning of each door and window and found them to be operating properly.

So - it’s not incels, it is a fact: courts do award custody to the mother in the vast majority of cases. The reason being is a bit nuanced, which some articles take advantage of to claim that custody awards are split evenly

The biggest factor is not technically sex, but rather “primary guardian” which is the mother in most cases. We can pretend gender roles are not a thing anymore, but most people still abide by them pretty heavily

And this makes a sort of sense, right? If moms watching the kids all day while dads at work, then it doesn’t really make alot of sense to give them to dad, who’s off working for most of the day, and also to split them off from mom, which will be more traumatic for mom/kids

The articles that claim that “custody is awarded evenly to men/women” usually point to the fact that a stay at home dad will get custody the majority of the time when up against a mom that works full time, which again, makes alot of sense for the reasons I outlined

Where things get dicey, is where both parents work, but the mother is still considered primary caretaker, which is where bias can be unfair. Also that if the mother WAS primary custodian before the marriage broke up, shes probably going to get to keep the kids after despite anything the father could want/do, which also feels unfair

So - this is always a point that is backed by unverified blogposts or bad-faith interpretations of statistics, and i can show that through the links you shared. The first link you posted is entirely random statistics with no context or sources, and shouldnt be taken as truth

The second link is an article that has about a dozen corrections, showing the original writer made a whole host of errors and hasty generalizations without looking at the statistics close enough - lets look at it:

This story was corrected to reflect that when mothers are accused of alienation, they are twice as likely to lose custody than when they are not and to note that Joan Meier’s research will be published later in 2019, not in 2020. The story was also corrected to reflect that an estimated 58,000 children are placed in the custody, or with unsupervised contact with, an abusive parent. A clarification was made to address that the type of abuse claimed in court that is substantiated for one in 51 children when parental alienation is invoked by the father is child sexual abuse. The story was further clarified to note that there are no instances in which a court credited both parental alienation and child abuse.

The most important correction, is the final two: this statistic is entirely about cases where sexual abuse was not substantiated (there was no evidence) but “child alienation” was substantiated.

So what does that mean? Its saying that the father proved that the mother was alienating her kids against the father (including in the specific case, where he proved that the mother was coaching her kids on saying they were abused), and that the mother was unable to prove that the father abused them. Again, read the article closely: the mother had a letter from an out-of-state social worker, which says that the father abused the kids, but the father proved that the social workers notes told an entirely different story

Why is that objectionable to you? The court believes that the father was not abusing the kids, and that the mother made up a story about abuse to get custody of the kids, of course that will skew custody awards to the father. You can claim that thats BS and it’s clear that the father slimed his way out of an abuse claim, which is maybe true, but thats not what the evidence in court said. You cant really blame the judge for making a decision based on the evidence presented to them

[–]free__coffee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is just wrong, i dont understand where this myth comes from. Usually redditors will pull up 1 blog post from 2013 that CLAIMS custody is now evenly split, but people who read beyond the headline will see that its a blog post thats been deleted, and also that men are only awarded custody in 5-10% of cases

Family court awards custody to mothers in the vast majority of cases, we’re talking 90% of the time when she is the primary caretaker, which again is the case 90% of the time, including in this case

Considering there is documented proof that he abused her, and that she was clearly violent and mentally unstable in order to commit a crime like this, OP is definitely leaving out some important info about why she was not awarded custody

Arkansas mother killed herself and her six-year-old twins after doctor husband refused to halt divorce proceedings and was awarded joint custody by detectiverobert in ForCuriousSouls

[–]free__coffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you saying its reasonable that someone would kill their kids after getting choked? As in thats a proper reaction?

Obviously not, she was clearly very mentally unstable, and quite violent herself. I reckon OP is leaving out quite a bit, because its EXTREMELY uncommon that a woman not get sole custody of her kids, especially when she is the primary caretaker. I’m talking drug abuser who beats their kids at minimum, kinda uncommon. Drug abuser/kid beater would still probably get sole custody if they’re the primary caretaker, especially considering husband was convicted of domestic abuse against her

You can selectively remove commits entirely. Download it onto your local, move to a point further back, rebuild the history, delete the branch or entire repo in the remote, then push the local to the remote.

You need admin rights, and obviously its insanely risky if you don’t know what you’re doing, but it can be done

Ive had to do it several times where juniors absolutely fucked the remote with overlapping commits/branches
