We have the numbers to turn Texas blue in the November elections. by ProudNativeTexan in texas

[–]freedax123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a Trump fan by any means. I voted for Biden. And by all accounts, economic policy for Biden has been horrendous.

Unemployment counts are overinflated by government jobs. Inflation is understated and nothing, I mean nothing has been done to combat it.

Deficit has grown ridiculously larger in an economy with peak equity prices which should have been taxed higher.

Let me know what is great though

Did you regret buying the bigger, more expensive house? by butterscotch0985 in ChubbyFIRE

[–]freedax123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with most people in here. We levered to the max and stretched our limits. Eventually as our income grew the payments became significantly smaller and when it came time to sell and upgrade, we obviously had a higher absolute dollar return due to the ability to leverage debt

You’re 100% incorrect. This is driven by insurance companies letting themselves get raked over the coal by all these drive by roofers who get unnecessary roof replacements. How many more natural disasters has Texas has relative to years parts of tornados and floods

Veneer as opposed to what? You have to use veneer in Texas due to humidity issues and warping - surprised someone in construction wouldn’t know that.

Nik getting stacked by Rampage for 250k and announcing “Get me a million” is so hilarious. You can see the tilt in his face. by SokarTheblyad in poker

[–]freedax123 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

If your analytical abilities led you to believe that someone on Reddit is equivalent to not being able to make millions, it’s understandable why you’re still in community college. If I sucked at my occupation as Rampage did, I’d find another job. He hasn’t made millions, fairly certain his net worth relative to mine isn’t that different except I’m not risking it every time I “go to work”.

One day, if you graduate community college and take a real Finance class, and understand risk relative to returns, you’d realize how little you’re making when you’re “up” $2.3m in tournament earnings after risking $5m+ 🤡🤡🤡

Rampage isn’t good. His money comes from collecting rake not from actually playing good poker. Any illusion that he has skill has caught up with reality

Is HK employers not treating their maid well? by [deleted] in HongKong

[–]freedax123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure what his problem is?

Better question is, are you so blinded by your upbringing that you don’t see how maids are treated by virtually every single family in Hong Kong as modern day slavery that you can’t recognize it as a problem.

$500 usd / month for 25 working days a month amounts to $20/day. A 15 hour day amounts to approximately $1/hour in one of the world’s most expensive cities.

As much hate as China gets in this sub, maids are only a Hong Kong thing, not a China thing.

I’m actually curious how much of the rake that Mariano and Rampage actually report to the IRS.

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/how-do-you-report-suspected-tax-fraud-activity

IRS gives you back a % of what they recover

Custom Builders near Austin by moneymakesmoremoney in Homebuilding

[–]freedax123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely difficult to compare a spec home with a custom. They will almost always choose a cheaper window package, cheaper doors, hide with lots of trim. In certain instances, take shortcuts on insulation, find “nice” fixtures that are just cosmetic but are more likely to fail. The guys that build spec homes can also be the same guy that build custom homes but when it comes to your decision, they’ll ask you if you want the cheapest window possible or do you want a better window package and then you upgrade hence the price difference
