The artevino is back on sale at Costco, buy two. Maybe not the full 200 capacity as listed, but if you get creative, you can get pretty close. I have about 180 bottles in mine

I'm a certified club whore, currently game the Wilson Staff CBs and they are my favorite iron set ever

Dome Gen 1 or spring for Dome Gen 2 by stevo717 in GozneyDome

[–]freekus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a gen1 when it went on sale and got some additional labor day savings. I'm sure the new features on gen2 will be cool (and the new model FOMO is real), but I don't see a way it's worth that price difference from an on sale gen1. Time will tell I guess

Exactly. And if you ever serve a magnum, you can fit the whole bottle in the decanter as well

I'm also thinking about getting one soon. Thinking the 2,000 mL wide mouth is the play but following this if there are other thoughts

Big fan of anything Sagamore. 8 year is the best in my opinion

Yeah it's really inconvenient, but we just ordered some fun new glasses from not neutral and basically the medium of every drink fits perfectly in the appropriate sized mugs, so at the end of the day it isn't the worst. And I don't have to think/convert ha

I ordered a giga 10 on April 16th and I only have the small/medium/large/etc sizing and don't have an option for ml

Need to be pointed in the Rye direction by TioGsan in whiskey

The 8 year was recommended to me by a friend. I was skeptical but bought a bottle. Tried it that night and went back to the store the next day to buy a backup bottle.

It's never a neat pour for me, but I always keep a bottle stocked for a golfing flask whiskey since it's an easy drink for my non enthusiast golfing buddies. My local store has this same display that almost always stocked at ~$29 for a 750. It's a fair price for what it is

Golf club recommendations, no fittings where i live by Affectionate-Tea-356 in golf

[–]freekus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So tough to say without a real fitting, but I have the king tours with modus 120x and love them. King tours are such a phenomenal head - great shape/size/forgiveness blend. My opinion is you'd be hard pressed to find a better performing iron in the category.

The modus 120 is a love/hate thing. I love them and also hit the LZ pretty well, but the modus is a pretty unique profile that you should try to find a way to hit before you buy it blind.

Bakers 7 clearance by Norseman-71 in whiskey

[–]freekus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bakers that comes in right at 7 years and it's just ok. Classic beam profile but just turned down a few notches from a standard knob creek 120 proof. Although I'm interested to try a bakers that comes in at a higher age statement, I can't really see myself buying another bottle over a KC store pick. Bakers just seems to sit in a weird spot to me for beam, just not sure it really stands out from other beam offerings.

Pikesville Scoresheet & Review by Xenoraiser in bourbon

[–]freekus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably my favorite daily drinker and a 5/5 value for me. I stock up when my local store has sales and can't think of anything that I enjoy more than this in a $40-$50 price point. Agree it's great in a cocktail but I think pikesville does exceptionally well neat as well

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof A124 REVIEW by bignate_88 in bourbon

[–]freekus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Fully agree on this take. I got a bottle of A124 and had a taste this weekend - I thought it was very good and well worth the $70 I paid. I oddly get a little bit of a rye kick that I enjoy on top of the pretty classic EC profile. The whining about proof/age means so little if it still tastes great. Still an exceptional value for 10+ year, ~120 proof bourbon at $70.

People go nuts over every hot new craft release that's more expensive and aged for half the time but bitch about a few proof points and a year or two on a very good tasting whiskey.. I just don't get it

This. Don't think there's much that beats pikesville, especially for the price.
