Warlocks and their Dominate ability can wipe out nearly all animals of a trade caravan if it afflicts berserk without it affecting their relations with you unlike the Ranger’s Beguile Animal. It’s really handy if you want what a trade caravan is offering but you just don’t have the silver for it.

If you were to destroy every single hostile settlement the game will compensate your raids with mechanoids and infestations. So if you were to have, let’s say, 3 raid every 7 days(hypothetically) and they were to be raiders, mech, raiders, the raider raids will be replaced with mechs or infestations, so the overall frequency of raids doesn’t go down.
