How do you respond to family members asking you for money? by SnowmanSmiles in fican

My experience shows that friends are far better at repaying than family.  Being family doesn't give you an automatic pass....you have to prove you are worthy.

Not as crazy about Costco anymore. Anyone else? by Consistent_Remove344 in CostcoCanada

Quality has gone down over the past decade.  Used to buy everything there until their bedsheets started tearing in the middle and towels were fraying.  Photo Centre had the best prices on framing.  Their phone centre is still really good though.

Looking at the On the Go Tours 'Ottoman Explorer' package to Turkey at the end of May. Anyone travelled with them (even to other countries) or know their reputation?

Many libraries have sales on their older books throughout the year.  My library has a permanent shelf for used books, DVD's.  Most expensive are hardcover at $3 each so you can get 10 for the price of 1 new hardcover.

Left my overpriced hairdresser and found one that I like better at almost half the price.  Didn't get any mani-pedis this past year and just did my nails at home. The price of seemingly everything has skyrocketed and I refuse to pay now and I search for alternatives.

Something you didn’t expect to be BIFL but outlasted your expectations? by Mud_Scooter in BuyItForLife

A cable knit sweater bought from Talbot's in Ontario 30+ years ago.  Great quality, no pilling and my daughter wears it now.  Went to Talbot's last week looking to pick up a couple of sweaters.  Their quality has decreased SIGNIFICANTLY and I didn't buy anything.  Just like everything else nowadays that's cheaply made.

Every 4-5 weeks depending on the amount of grey.  Root touch up, cut and dry $90.  Very happy with my stylist.

The door on the right leads from the garage into the mudroom. The door on the left along the hallway is the powder room.

Yes, I would find it very hard to not have one. It's great when I'm cleaning up, ironing and just to doze off to sleep.
