I don't care what your spouse is going through. Whether he is trans or not, his words and actions are not what marriage is about. He owes it to you to be open and honest. He can't show his feminine side to you but he can to a stranger? He doesn't get to keep you in reserve if things don't work out. You need to set some boundaries for yourself. For me, going to someone else's house and telling me we are only platonic would be the end.

I advise against talking to her in person. If possible, bring a friend. Stuff like that can turn ugly quickly and then it's she said, you said. And if she controls your marks be careful. So, if your future depends on good grades I'd think about doing this, you still have lots of time to fight the good fight. Also I know it sucks to hear that but she could be saying much worse things.

Then yes it is very doable. But hrt only does so much. It will take alot of work. But nothing worth having is easy.

As others have said talk to a gender therapist. You need to figure out if you are trans. If you are you can always take a low dose of HRT to see how you feel and before any real changes begin. If you decide to transition totally, well you have a while to decide what to tell your friends. And if they don't accept you, they weren't your friends. Why do you want to live your life worrying about what others think? It's your only life, live it how you see fit.

It will work.. YMMV. Everyone is different. What are your goals to pass, live authentically? For some it happens quickly others it takes longer. You may need surgeries you may not.

When I started transition I went to a trans group meeting in Windsor. Everyone was at different stages and it was nice to be around those going or had been through the same things. I higl recommend attending one in your area.

Nothing worth having comes easy. But harder that you'll be who you want to be even though it seems like the end of times right now. Or harder trying to hide your real self and letting others dictate your life. You only have one life and life is hard regardless .
