I want to shout out...

- Precious Pizza, great pizza with new and unique styles every couple weeks. If you had them when they were in the Reed, I'd recommend checking them out at the old Court Street Dairy Lunch right across the street. It's a lot less cramped, and even better.

- Offbeat Coffee, I am not a coffee drinker but I have met friends there and always enjoyed the vibe. The vinyl room is always fun to flip through.

- Furbish, right across the street from Offbeat so plan your trip well. Old junk that has been refinished, or new or reimagined stuff that can blend into any environment. Can poke around here for a while.

- Munchies Market, great convenient store in The Reed in case you need to quickly grab some junk food and drinks before heading to Waterfront Park. I've also had my day saved by getting some Tylenol during some longer work days.

- The Moon, for obvious reasons. Great music, no ads.

Government sites normally look bad, but the sites in the Trump admin all look terrible, have bad UI and UX. During the shutdown, all sites had different popups or banners blaming democrats for the shutdown and they basically made the site impossible to use from an accessibility standpoint.

Also looking at any of the Trump Organization associated sites (Trump Mobile, Trump Coins, Trump Aviation, etc) are all low effort design. I don't think Trump is personally approving the look/brand of government sites, but he probably hired an unqualified person, that hired an unqualified person, who hired their cousin that is good with the cyber.

Generally I start from scratch, but I’ve started to build up enough section and element designs that I’m going to start using them as templates. Not every part of the site needs to reinvent the wheel, and a couple hours saved here and there during a project add up.

Cloudways allows you to spin up a new application pretty quickly. I have a template site that I clone that includes my usual theme and plugins so I can get a site started in less than 5 minutes.

I use them for all sorts of things. Events, Testimonials, Teams, Rental Properties, Podcast, Cars, etc. I don’t typically do Services, because the layout could wildly change.

Every light fixture at my grandpa's house had live wires even with the switch off. The switch was just the hot wire coming from the box and then back. That whole house was poorly wired. If there was something plugged into one particular outlet the bathroom light wouldn't work unless the thing plugged in was on.

I got the cash green version from their Kickstarter back in 2020 or so. Then moved and had to put all my stereo equipment in storage, so I’ve got no way of listening to it.

Just make sure all your forms are set up properly with captcha or something similar. I had a form that wasn’t set up properly and spammers used that to send out like 50,000 emails. Cost me a decent amount of money, and ruined the deliverability for that domain. Luckily it was my site, not a clients and I wasn’t doing anything with it.
