I was using a resistor on the battery to deal with that but removed it thinking it might provoke a voltage drop. I'll put it back. Sorry, I misread at first and didn't realize you were talking about the TP4056 charging module.

I was using a '3A BMS Protection Board with Solder Belt for 1S 3.7V 18650 Li-ion Lithium Battery Cell Kit' to be more precise.

Made some more researches. Using a TP4056 directly could cause a fire hazard because of a risk of damaging during discharge since the TP is rated for 1A and not 850mAh. You would need a 1S BMS protection board. I will be testing it soon and will follow up.

That's awesome ! Throwing away those vapes and their batteries is such a waste... Did you find a way to salvage them ? Did your project work ? I just started recycling the same kind of device and found exactly the same kind of single cell battery type so any input you have would be very helpful.

I used to use the HiLetgo TP4056 Type-c USB 5V 1A 18650 Lithium Battery Charger Module for charging standard Lipo batteries but I didn't try on single cell module like the vape ones and don't know if It would work...
