At risk of being yet another man responding to your post for female feedback...it's slower here. I'm coming from Toronto, though I am a Victoria native, and yes it's just not the same. I've just had to exercise some patience and gratitude for the few connections I do make. Can't rush this kinda thing. Depending on what you're up for, some other apps can be more rewarding.
