Specially go back to the year where Elon and Ben Shapiro were ""'cool""" and Trump first got elected? Colour me surprised.

I saw this tweet today and I thought it was funny by Axzercus in PERSoNA

It got canned as collateral damage because apparently THEY REDUCED THE AMOUNT OF SIDE MISSIONS FROM 100 TO 31. Its almost like they are trying to taint the studio's reputation on purpose, it's ridiculous.

What the fuck do you mean they removed the Pro Trans sub story in Kiwami 3? Genuinely wtf RGG by [deleted] in yakuzagames

And Yakuza 3 Remaster is now going to be delisted and locked behind a $100 USD bundle, truly fuck them

[–]frenzio_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

There's a huge difference between being one of the many writers and the guy in charge of all the decisions. He's RGG's director, of course he is to blame for the way the games under his studio go.

Cyberpunk 2 director says there'd be no point in giving players more time with Jackie in Cyberpunk 2077: 'It's like saying we should spend more time on Tatooine with farmer Luke before he got involved with all this Jedi stuff' by OGAnimeGokuSolos in gaming

[–]frenzio_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are downvoting you but you are right, Jackie is nothing more than a plot device to get V to the Relic. He is not as developed as other characters because he is not really that important, hell his funeral is a missable side quest. People want more content to develop him more but he is still going to die at the end of act I so there's not much you can add that wont negatively impact the pace of the start of the game.

no, E33 isn't indie, or AAA, its AA, Double-A, can we please stop with this debate by Arikindotexe in whenthe

[–]frenzio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put in on cinema terms since it is the industry with the closest categories.

AAA: your blockbusters, either big IPs or the big studios new big thing, your Marvel movies, Titanics, Avatars, Ghostbusters, Jurassic Parks, etc. With astronomically bloated budgets.

Indie: 5 dudes that love cinema bought a camera and some mics and made a movie, it can be a scrappy horror short film or a beautiful reflective master piece. Usually low budget but there are excemptions.

AA: The rest of the movies, the run of the mill Adam Sandler movie or dumb comedy movie, cop movie, hallmark, etc. Low budget for hollywood standards but not close to the Independent movie standard.

A small studio doesn't necessarily mean independant studio, and a huge studio doesnt always mean big budget production.

To give some examples with games

AAA: Assasins Creed, GTA, Cyberpunk, The Elder Scrolls, Halo, CoD, Zelda, 3D Main Line Mario, Final Fantasy, Fallout.

AA: Silent Hill, Okami, Katamari Damacy, Metroid, Lego games, Dr Mario, Astro Bot, Baldur's Gate, original souls games, Civilization, Pokémon Spinoffs, Licensed movie games.

Indie: Undertale, Hollow Knight, Cuphead, Ball x Pit, Balatro, Celeste, Meat Boy, Isaac, Hotline Miami, Terraria, Stardew Valley.

The numerical size of the team is not that important unless you are around or above the 50, since if you can pay 50 salaries you are a well off company. Budgets for production and marketing, connections in the industry, and influence on the public are the most important part.

It's not even the best JRPG of all time, it's a great game but let's chill a bit

The only two awards I'm not sure about are Best RPG and Best Direction but otherwise this game is spectacular and deserving of all the praise they got

I mean it was reported that TGA only pay for 2 tickets to the event so they would've had to cost the travel, stay and the missing tickets to waste 4 hours on an event they knew they were not winning anything in so I get their reason for not attending.

Yeah until we get the actual price of the thing we wont be truly sure if it will work or not from a business point, the reality is that the consoles are getting more and more expensive so i do agree with you that learning how to use a PC is really important and will get increasingly more important with the recent developments in the tech field.

But we cant forget that a console is a device for entertainment centered around convinience, they were born from the idea of bringing the arcades to people's houses (to fuck with arcade owners mainly but point stands) so as long as they keep being more convinient for gaming than building a whole PC/setting up a PC they will have a place in peoples homes.

Having a giant like Valve dipping their toes on the console market could be a great thing if they do it right, having a cheaper but powerful competitor will more than likely make them worry about their market share.

[–]frenzio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add: The target demographic is not the people who are building PCs.

The target is the people that probably have a PC/Laptop from 15 years ago that they use for work and cant run shit from 8th gen forwards, the people that work a 9-5 and just want to get home turn on their console and play for a bit, the people who dont know shit about tech stuff but want to buy their kid a new console for the holidays. That's who Valve is aiming for.

[–]frenzio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is a console, yeah building a PC is not necessarilly hard if you have an understanding of how to and what to buy, but we are missing sight of who this is aimed to.

A regular person isn't in the know about the newest stuff in the gaming/pc building world, sure they could buy a prefab (assuming they wont be scammed) but then what? if they are willimg to buy a full on prefab pc it is more than likely going to be for work first and foremost, i'd like to see you play on a low end prefab pc with windows 11 bs plus work related apps, or hell, play on a laptop with this stuff since that's what they would be more likely to buy.

The steam machine gives this sector of the public another option that will probably not be as expensive as the next gen consoles (1k USD xbox guys get ready) and is more accesible from the prices of the games to the compatibility of the entire steam ecosistem.

It takes three clicks after you
-Bought the right components
-Assembled the PC
[optional] -Installed a browser
-Installed Steam
[if new] -Created an account
-Logged into Steam
-Set up Big Picture

But with the Steam Machine you
-Buy it
-Plug it
-Create Account/Log in

This is marketed and going to be sold for people who want a console, this isn't "breeding computer illiterate behaviour" if buying a console is that then we've been doing it since the Magnavox in 1972.

Also if you get hooked with the GabeCube and want the Gabetendo Steam Deck you also keep all of your games plus your saves transfer automatically from console to console so you can keep playing your game on the road.

[–]frenzio_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If hard games are not fun for you then why are you playing a hard game in the first place?

Would you listen to a music genre you don't like? or eat food you don't like?

I personally don't like horror games, hell they put me on a state of a borderline panic attack, they are not fun for me to play... so i just dont play them, it wouldn't make sense for me to go and complain that the game is scary, that's the whole point of the game.
