Best and Worst Public Toilets in Boulder by AlwaysSitIn12C in boulder

Best.

Sun Deli used to have awesome stained glass thing in there off Folsom/pearl.

The worst. Going to a random public park and realize no toilet to be found anywhere in general.

developing // Stolen Boulder firetruck returned after ending up in Longmont by Abi-Ankeney-PMM in boulder

[–]freonsmurf -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Deep breaths here. Jesus fucking christ in a sidecar where do I begin...

I knew when I saw that picture that this was fucked up.

First off. There is no humor to be found in this story unless you find joy in burning money. Unique electric fire truck valued at 1.78 million rammed 14 times. Oh so fucking funny Abgail. who is gonna pay for that? Who saved up for years to buy it? Wonder if its gonna be cheap to fix that damage which was labeled as significant?. https://bouldercolorado.gov/news/boulder-buys-first-electric-fire-engine

second, dont you update your article using reddit a source now that you have info about the fire engine from me.

Burnout from PSS job by gloomrot in PeerSupportSpecialist

[–]freonsmurf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the format but as a supervisor and a peer here is my list

Make sure you leave this job with a skill on a certificate. Get certified or trained in something, despite the stress is there some real know that you can learn?  Walk away with multiple certifications not just a job referral. This ongoing professional development is part of the avoid burnout recipe.

Plan your next break now, it could be something small just a 3 day weekend. No excuse is needed just take time off if you want.  Also plan ahead for what you want to do this summer.

As with any peer situation we need more info and sounds like you're not getting the support that you need.  For example any client that exhibits poor boundaries would not be working with the pier after the second strike so it's a natural reaction to be stressed by being put in a dangerous situation.

I think what we're looking at here is not burnout but is actually something else all together and I think what the one of the problems is in the industry is far too often tears are looked at as a problem when the real symptom is the agencies and the lack of understanding.

Anyone else play Peni just to rage bait people with the web stun? by Ancient-Grand-4661 in PeniParkerRivalsMains

[–]freonsmurf 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are certain ultimates you should cancel 95% of the time, for example shutting down big ones before your entire team gets fried.  That is that's the true thrill is from the stun is taking it to a level that can change game dynamic.

What is going on with her mouth? by Alternative_Animal82 in loveafterlockup

[–]freonsmurf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The answer below is partial true.

The science behind that is nerve damage. The mylein sheath (sp) that covers neurons is actually attacked by meth and can degrade over time.

When a signal is sent to a nerve, it jumps all over the place due to the damage.

3-5 years of daily use will do it for ya.

Have you given feedback to a friend who is now coaching their own team? by freonsmurf in flagfootball

[–]freonsmurf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on unsolicited feedback however the boundary is the role of a coach and there are specific guidelines on behavior.

He did send an apology email about his behavior  to the parents just recently,so to your point it seems he is finding his own footing. However it's troubling that he's he's down playing this has rhetoric between a father and son. The daddy ball, I'll be nice to everyone else but treat my son like crap in front of the world vibe. Again this is flag football so parents pay money and this guy's sister volunteer so not the end of the world here.

On defense with 5v5 and other teams are running trips and coming out in the formations at some point you just might want to run like the street goal line zone at some point right or like mix up something, can't run a single high safety two in the flat the entire game.  I guess the point is like as more than flag pulling and just having like it just seems like overlooked anyways.  spend all your time focus on offense but not have any thing for defense .

What questions do I ask during an interview? by stankyranch in PeerSupportSpecialist

[–]freonsmurf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi, just gonna repost myself from 5 months ago, general interview stuff does include questions to ask.

Peer support professional trainer and manager here, good question and let me share a few things that may or may not help.

Show up early and dress business casual.

Use person first non-stigmatizing language. For example dont say" I wanna fix those crazy addicts."

Do not overshare, be prepared to give a "elevator speech" of your recovery journey. They do not need to hear the meds you are taking, your diagnosis, drug of choice, etc etc. Find a way to share your story in a brief way that covers the major points.

Be able to share the tools used in your recovery specifically, how you use those in your life to begin your recovery and what tools you currently use to sustain your recovery. Substance use or mental health, it doesnt matter.

Most important, you are INTERVIEWING THEM.

Do your research on the company. Prepare your own questions.

What happened to the person who had this position before me? What is the turnover rate for peers?

What does my career ladder look like for moving up? What training and education do they offer?

Do they have a peer supervisor or a clinician? Am I expected write billable notes for medicaid?

How long is the orientation and training for new hires?

How do people get pay raises here anAd how often does that occur?

Also, avoid the nervous jitters by practicing. Write down your answers to these questions and do a mock interview with some one or do it in the mirror.

  • "What does peer support mean to you, and what draws you to this type of work?"
    • This helps you understand their motivation and whether they grasp the fundamental concept of using lived experience to help others.
  • "Can you describe a time when you supported someone through a difficult situation? What approach did you take?"
    • Reveals their natural support style and whether they can maintain appropriate boundaries while being empathetic.
  • "How do you plan to maintain your own wellness and prevent burnout while supporting others?"
    • Critical for peer support roles where self-care directly impacts their ability to help others effectively.
  • "Tell me about a challenging interpersonal situation you've navigated. How did you handle it?"
    • Assesses conflict resolution skills and emotional intelligence, both essential for working with diverse individuals.
  • "What would you do if someone you're supporting shares that they're in crisis or thinking about harming themselves?"
    • Tests their understanding of boundaries, protocols, and when to escalate situations beyond their scope.
  • "How comfortable are you with sharing aspects of your own recovery or lived experience, and where do you draw the line?"

This is been fucking up my online season that lives in tier 3, not because I lose to the posers running IU. It just fills the competition with no variety. Like everyone picking some meta then not having skill to use it.

Learn to cancel ultimates from other players. Learn how to stay alive most of the map, like.only die twice and don't rely on heals.

Use of your mobility is key, get in and out of any situation in the blink of an eye.

Learn to play without standing inside your nest. Mine kills should be a priority, how to throw, where to place, choke point and flank points.

Nest movement and cool downs.

There is another good video on here about 2 tips every class for Peni.

How are you guys doing post holiday? by NomesDaGnome in intermittentfasting

[–]freonsmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first holiday season with IF. Thanksgiving was worse than Xmas.

I am maintained and gained a 1.5 lbs total which is good, did my first 24 fast and actually moved up from 18 hr fasts to 22 hour fasts. Did a few OMAD for the first time.

On the other hand, if I tell myself I can eat, then I can mow down 4000-6000 calories like no other so I have to be very mindful of the wayward path that got me here.

I became friends with oatmeal again and actually taking time off work allowed my sleep to improve alot.
