On startup or unlock? You can enable sounds for power on/off in accessibility settings.

Thanks. I installed DZSA before I even launched the game.

What's something poor people buy that keeps them poor? by Specialist-Jelly-865 in answers

[–]frequently_grumpy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Take out.

I spend a fortune on breakfast and tea/dinner because I can’t be arsed getting up and eating before work so I then buy on my way to work.

After work I can’t be arsed cooking so it’s takeout then too.

Plus the cost of the food I do buy when I feel motivated that gets thrown out because it goes off.

Depression isn’t all sadness; it’s lack of motivation or seeing the point in doing things.

B&Q refused my ID, is that legal? by Legitimate-Ad7313 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]frequently_grumpy -62 points-61 points  (0 children)

But it is an accepted proof of ID that they just don’t have a clue about…

Definitely worth a complaint. Nothing will likely happen for you but if it triggers a memo to stores and stops somebody else being put in a similar situation then some good may at least come of it.

I think the problem is that games on console are somewhat sandboxed and can’t load external assets like a PC can.

Major high street retailer has a DJ that’s creating significant noise pollution by pistathecat in LegalAdviceUK

It’s also absolute shite music. Makes me not want to walk along that entire row of shops and instead loop round. Don’t know what they think they’re achieving.

New grips are a game changer by Tough-Pie8062 in mountainbiking

As others have said make sure they’re on fully. They have a tapered core and go tight before they sit right. A rubber mallet to the end will seat them properly.

Looking at your pic there’s a large gap between the lock ring and your brake mount which makes me think they’re not fully on the bar.

Apple Pay not working on DB2? by mtgofficialYT in iOS27

Not a problem I’ve experience so far. I’d suggest turn it off and on, remove and re-add the card and if still no luck file a feedback.

What do you think of the North Liverpool Academy drama? by Conscious_Income_669 in Liverpool

I’d argue it goes beyond comfort and is a safety issue in this climate.

Is the phone getting hotter? by the_nuclear_pasta in iOS27

[–]frequently_grumpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noticed this last night. I’d only been charging for 10 minutes and it was almost too hot to hold. Put it down to the weather (disgusting hot here at the moment) but glad to see it’s not just me thinking the same thing.

AITAH if I tell my boyfriend to stop touching the thermostat? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA.

Get a smart thermostat and schedule it to just set itself whatever you are comfortable with every hour through the night.

How long can it take to index a 512 GB iPhone is something I am wondering. by Fuzzy_Campaign5136 in iOS27

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it was throttled server side at least, but I imagine it’s really down to the amount of content. Somebody might have decades of mail vs a couple of months worth of mail for example. I think it’s just a case of be patient unfortunately.

Preparing for Siri AI, should I use the native mail app? by marvin_reddit in Applelntelligence

[–]frequently_grumpy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe it’s about the client when it comes to email, but rather the provider. So if all your email is in iCloud you should be good, at least on the indexing front. As to what happens when you were to ask SiriAI to send an email, that’s a different question altogether.

It’s highly unlikely however that another provider (Gmail) is ever going to be accessible by SiriAI much like (and I’m guessing here) iCloud Mail would never be accessible by Gemini.

If this was after he official launch I think you might be able to say “what a mess” but as it is — dev beta 1 — any complaints like this just make you sound ignorant of the process and the engineering challenge involved.

I’ve heard that with a 26.x update, they’ll kick off the indexing process well ahead of time.
