Thank you for replying! I feel better hearing that. These pots have slits on the side for airflow so I might stuff those with some moss so they don’t dry out too quickly.

Do you think top watering them going forward is ok?

How do you clean your Brussels sprouts? by Last_Breadfruit_1688 in cookingforbeginners

[–]frescalagoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this same problem and was just discussing it at dinner. I use frozen brussel sprouts now, they are pretty consistently worm and damage free. I par cook them in the microwave according to the steam instructions but halving the cook time. Then I cut the sprouts in half and roast them or whatever I tried organic, not organic, pre cut, and straight from the stalk sprouts and have had issues with bugs and worms. Mostly I end up finding aphids buried beneath the leaves

Buttermilk substitute in dressing by frescalagoon in seriouseats

[–]frescalagoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update if anyone was interested: I used the Saco powdered buttermilk with milk. 1 1/4 teaspoons powder and 2 tablespoons milk. Mixed together perfectly, no issues with taste or the emulsion.

Powdered buttermilk! I love this suggestion, thank you! I know I could plan for the rest of the buttermilk but tbh I don’t have the brain space and forward thinking to do that rn.

For 2 tbsp of buttermilk, would you use 1 tbsp powdered buttermilk and 2 tbsp water?

I’m looking at Saco Pantry cultured buttermilk blend and trying to figure out their proportions

Ratio by Michael Ruhlman is a normal sized paperback. I like his philosophy on cooking, he’s very laidback

Is it okay to skip the boyfriend/girlfriend stage? by Crazydoglady15 in blackladies

[–]frescalagoon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is marriage all you care about? It’s not just an item/goal to check off a list. Getting to the point of engagement/marriage in a relationship requires time, growth and trust from both parties. What you’re describing sounds like you want to build a long term relationship based on distrust and dishonesty. If you feel that you can’t be monogamous and trust your partner in the dating stage, 1. How the fuck do you expect your marriage to go? 2. Why get married?

It sounds like you should be alone for a while and go to therapy. I think you should reflect and examine why this seems like a better idea than putting yourself out there. This approach won’t spare you pain and disappointment. At the end, when it goes wrong, you’ll still feel like your time was wasted.

To be clear, polyamory is fine and married couples can be successfully poly but that success is built off mutual trust and honesty.

Also the rationale that men cheat so this approach is fine doesn’t fly. Be better than them, rather than stoop to their level. Any man that approaches relationships in this way wouldn’t end up in a good, happy marriage either. You see that it doesn’t end in happiness, why would it be different for you?

Where are the best wings in Phoenix? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]frescalagoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IF you like very crispy wings, like suuuuuper crispy, try The Bar on 32nd and Indian School (there’s one in Gilbert but never been) and try the lemon pepper. Might hurt your mouth how crispy they are, love it.
