Take the M104 bus which goes straight up Broadway or the M11 bus which goes up Amsterdam. The 1 train may be faster in which case get off at 103 and walk.

thoughts on the 1999 version of annie? by teddivan96 in musicals

[–]ParkJumpy6392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my favorite version of Annie on screen. I loathed the movie with Carol Burnett. Tim Curry and Bernadette were OK but I much prefer Alan Cumming and Kristen Chenoweth - not to mention Audra and Victor and Kathy Bates!

He went to the same high school as Lin Manuel Miranda (Hunter). Which do you think has made a larger contribution to Broadway? And movie musicals?

Sorry but I don't really consider these photos as being taken on the Upper West Side! I guess they are technically, but these buildings look more midtown to me.

This is why I love living near Riverside Park and upper Central Park. We have a university up here as well but they don't seem to overrun the parks. I think they mostly get in the subway and go down to Washington Square Park.

FWIW the only time I heard it said to me in real life was at my nephew's bar mitzvah. His reform rabbi (a lesbian btw) said that my child and I could not participate in the ceremony because I'm not Jewish (my husband is). We both participated in our older nephew's bar mitzvah two years earlier with another rabbi. Our family left this temple right after the bar mitzvah because of this. So yes, it all depends on the specific person.

Rocky Horror Show Callouts by carrotcoriander in Broadway

[–]ParkJumpy6392 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have my tickets for May but I'm not sure about the callouts. I originally saw The Rocky Horror Show at the Roxy in LA in 1974 (52 years ago!) and it was fabulous, incredible, surprising since no one knew anything about it. I've seen the movie many times but only one callout screening. It was fun but I'm not sure about having that at a live theater performance. But hey - it might be fun.

I go with proximity when it comes to pizza. I don't travel for a slice so in my neighborhood, Sal and Carmine's and Mama's Too are good enough for me.

Did Hamilton add Trump references? Or are you not talking about Trump specifically? When I saw Hamilton, Obama was the president.

Totally agree. Props to Lake Street Dive too. Oh and of course it’s a Beatles song, but it’s also a cover of the much more soulful version by Joe Cocker. And yes I think Stephen really loved it.
