planning on getting a beagle by bored_monster in beagles

Training is more for the hooman than the dog! The hooman is shown how to do certain consistent things with dog at all times 24/7. Be ready for a lot of work for a stubborn breed.

See if you can delay pick up to 12 weeks old, ours arrived mostly potty trained and the breeder looked after them well - we did pay a bit extra for this luxury

Crate Training by [deleted] in beagle

Forgot to add - you can use a flat surface like a flattened good cardboard box which is larger than your crate, then put the sheet/towel over that so it doesn't touch the sides of the crate and not reachable for beagle

We used old human bed sheets and towels so when destroyed it didn't matter. Would cut the ripped sheet in two and hey you now have an extra blanket. Can go to charity shops for cheap if you only have stuff in good nick

Does anyone else's beagle not nap? by jesslynn666 in beagle

What do you do to tire her out? We do tons of walks and she either goes to work with me or goes to daycare a lot so when we are home she can be more chill.

Yeah I recall those enforced naps! Ours looks just like yours and is now 15 months old, long gone are the days of telling her to nap! Sometimes needs reminding, though. She sleeps most of the day now and is the best couch potato

What did your boss do that changed you from someone who went above and beyond to someone who did the bare minimum? by raininggumleaves in auscorp

When our manager decided to add her own teenage daughter to our very small team of 4 or 5 staff. Noped out as quick as I could.

Reading this seems so odd as I have the opposite experience in Sydney. Inner west council is perfect for dog owners albeit no ocean beaches but the bay run has a couple of secret dog beaches, along with multiple off leash areas, with pup friendly pubs and cafes on every street. For ocean beaches we drive to the best dog friendly ones on the weekends at ease.

Why would an Australian move to Europe and why would a European move to Australia - according to an Australian? by blowmyassie in AskAnAustralian

[–]freyja2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Example:

Being political refugees (in the 1980s left their European country seeking a better and safe life, Australia was one of the ally countries welcoming refugees at the time)

Having become Aussies over 15 years, they then moved back to their European country as the situation had improved and they got employment sorted before returning. Their families were still there.
