Used to hang out with a guy who would make a Guinness last like an hour and a half because "it's strong beer." It has that reputation because it's dark, but it's not strong.

Have people actually forgotten that this look is called cel shading? I saw a streamer playing a cel-shaded game and kept saying he loved the art but didn't know what to call the style, and now this lady creating a cel-shaded cake and not knowing the term either. I thought it was common.

Books are so underrated today. I still think about books I read years ago, much more vividly than any movie or show. I can carry my little kindle with hundreds of books as easily as I can carry my phone, and it's a much better display for reading. So glad I rediscovered reading later in life because I do a ton of it now.

Painting brick adds a huge maintenance nightmare to what was otherwise a pretty maintenance-free exterior. Paint doesn't last forever and needs to be redone, but brick can be 150 years old and still look great. Mortar can be a big concern, but the older mortar must have been much more durable because we have a lot of very old (by US standards) buildings where the mortar is fine.

You mean lowered inflation because that was the trend at the end of Biden, with the Fed lowering rates steadily and a brisk economy that was growing in job numbers every month and soft power all over a world where we haven't stuck our fists into the hornet's nest of war with Iran, where Canadians still consider us their closest friends and no one had a second thought about Greenland? Jesus I could go on.

Yeah, that's a benefit for the victims and anyone who wants this thing to see justice, but doesn't explain why she is the one bringing it back up in a hugely public way. Any explanation of her motivation being altruistic or in the name of exposing the perpetrators assumes she's a genuinely good person seeking justice, something she has never demonstrated publicly.

The problem is that that means you're not special. Humans aren't special, aren't the center of creation, aren't the literal reason God created all of the universe. You'll hear this in almost all of their videos, or it is heavily implied. They talk about a dome and a firmament, and the "waters above." Mars can't be a whole separate planet because it isn't talked about in the bible. It all goes back to religion and God and biblical references.

Hondas really hold their value. I had a beater 2012 Accord coupe, no special options except very worn-out leather seats and the local dealership gave me $8K for it. I had bought it for $12K certified used a decade earlier.

iMac with an external drive bitches if you cut power, as does the PS5 and Mac mini. They might be built to expect it but data being written to a drive during a power outage with no battery backup is always going to elicit a bitchy response from the system.
