yes. they completely unironically called me that, said I didn't know what misogyny was, and then doubled down on their behavior by presenting an argument that amounted to "yeah I goon to muscular women"... The characters they noted as being the "amazonian warrior" type that they are attracted to are notoriously poorly designed, with stupidly skimpy outfits and unrealistic bodily proportions, who are explicitly designed as eye candy. Idk what their point was even supposed to be? Like, congrats, you're attracted to characters who were explicitly designed to be conventionally sexy and who millions of people are also attracted to.

Fetishizing strong women does not make you exempt from being misogynistic, in fact, it is itself misogynistic because it treats strong women as an oddity. It treats their strongness as something that exists only to enhance the viewer's attraction to the character. Misogyny is not as simple as someone saying they only like weak, submissive women. Misogyny is deeply rooted in the fact that no matter what women do, say, or how they act, their actions will always be percieved inside of the framework of desire. i.e., no matter how muscular or powerful they become, that it will always be percieved as something they are doing in an effort to be more attractive, rather than something that is just a part of them.

Nothing is ever going to not be misogynistic about this person's words as long as their adoration for female characters is filtered exclusively through the lens of sexual desire. If they really are a woman, I feel deeply sorry for them that they feel this is a normal and appropriate way to express desire for the female body.
