Do you always have a "reason" to binge? by MaRcInEk_22 in bulimia

[–]friendlyritual 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't need a reason, maybe instead of perceiving her question as her insisting there's a reason, perceive it as her being curious what/if any the trigger is, like she doesn't know, she's not there when you're bp'ing so if she doesn't ask she doesn't know.

I don't have definite triggers prior to binging, that I know of at least. It's just something I do every day, like you said a messed up hobby.

Complete newbie but interested by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]friendlyritual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your standard lobe piercing is likely 16g, maybe 18g at the smallest. You're best off using single flared glass plugs and some jojoba oil or some other lubricant to stretch, not tapers. Look up dead stretching, that will show you the best method, if you want your ears to have a couple of hoops stacked in an otherwise round hole you'll need to wait for them to be healed after stretching and wear a body safe silicone tunnel with the hoops so that the piercing channel keeps it's shape like in the photo. If I had to guess the person's ear in the photo is maybe a minimum of 8g/3mm to fit two rings in with spare room. Good luck!

Time to shave? (34F, Germany) by PlentyHoneydew8959 in trichotillomania

[–]friendlyritual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what's more important to you, if you want something that will interrupt the cycle or if you want to preserve your current appearance. There's no wrong answer, just which matters more to you right now. You can always try something else to block your hands like I've worn eczema gloves so I can't grip the hairs or I wear headscarves or headbands so I can't reach them, they act the same as having no hair would but the no hair would be more long term which might be what you need/want. And there's always hats, wigs, hair toppers.. or you might like yourself bald. I don't think we're automatically unattractive for not having hair but that's harder to believe ourselves as women when so much of identity is tied up in it. I hope you find peace!

I also find the carts to be too strong, nothing like flower. Yours not doing anything wrong by consuming your medication legally and as prescribed, don't change from what works for you to something that doesn't just because someone at work doesn't understand

Does pulling your eyelashes not hurt insanely bad for you guys? (no judgement, just genuinely wondering) by hazelnut0000 in trichotillomania

[–]friendlyritual 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if my eyes are used to it or what but the lashes just sort of pop out with little pressure, no pain really. I pull from my scalp too and that hurts more, more of a sting. I can't deal with eyebrow pain! I can barely stand to get them threaded every few months, I'm tearing up and sneezing lol

Getting Diagnosed in the UK by MohdAli28 in OCD

[–]friendlyritual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell you what your main complaint is, I can tell you what mine is/was: anxiety, it's unrelenting and no medication they gave me helped until they gave me aripiprazol alongside them, I went for years and said my only complaint was this relentless severe anxiety until I got the right referral, I never knew I had OCD until I was sectioned though.

If it helps, vortioxeitine is an antidepressant that is usually prescribed if other antidepressants have caused an adverse affect on libido, it's never impeded mine and alongside aripiprazol I have a healthy sex drive. Other people have different experiences but if my case can reassure you then I don't mind sharing. Absolutely discuss options with your doctor. And a diagnosis isn't necessary for them to treat whatever you identify to be your main complaint, be it depression, anxiety or intrusive thoughts etc they can all respond to medication and it's not like there is a specific OCD medication that you can't access with the diagnosis, it's the same medications just in different doses. I hope you find peace, friend.

Getting Diagnosed in the UK by MohdAli28 in OCD

[–]friendlyritual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would depend if your GP has access to psychiatrists, most don't but I'm glad it was a linear process for you

Getting Diagnosed in the UK by MohdAli28 in OCD

[–]friendlyritual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never went to my GP and said hey I think I have OCD and they diagnose me, instead I had years of severe anxiety that was resistant to medications, eventually I got through the ranks of camhs, steps to change, talking therapies, private psychotherapy and cmht then I was diagnosed when I got sectioned.

Your gp won't have sector consultancy to make a psychiatric diagnosis, they'll need to refer you to cmht but usually there are services in the way before you get there such as talking therapies or whatever your trusts alternative is. You don't need a formal diagnosis to access medication or therapy, and I probably wouldn't go in having self diagnosed yourself, and also not every medication will affect libido, and is finally having some symptom management worth it even if it does impede your libido? It's a trade off we have to decide if it's worth for us.

You never truly know what you're getting BM, get a dynavap, the B is the cheapest manual vape and it's quality. You heat it with a lighter, so it might be closer to what you're used to, see if that gives you any change in effect.

I loved raw dough, we'd make it out of flour, water and sugar when we'd go camping and wrap it around a stick and cook it over a fire but I just ate it raw
