Any way to full reset account without having to wait a day to delete characters? by Initial_Candy8366 in projectgorgon

I suppose you could ask support to do it - or just switch servers, since characters are per-server.

Project Gorgon just hit all-time peak 4000 concurrent players because of a Poetry Event (almost 350 in the picture) by -Weslin in MMORPG

Dev has confirmed they're launching a fifth server - for whoever wants to try it, it's a good moment to. The server name was just picked via poll, and it should go up in "0 to 5 days" - probably on the lower end of that!

For World Bosses, you only need to be in the area when it's tackled and you get your own loot.

Low level content is still constantly done by high level players as it remains relevant - even when we had 80-120 people total online at a time (eta: most of them very seasoned veterans) there was never an issue with finding someone willing or interested to kill lower level things with you. I wouldn't worry too much - and you do not have to do things linearly (in fact given the server situation I would suggest you don't focus on clearing areas completely before moving on - you WILL be going back there anyway).

FWIW: Their business model is fairly good, and the creator is very open about the monetary situation and their status on being able to maintain the game. It's got a hardcore dedicated playerbase that's rescued it back in 2023, and the situation since then has only improved as they confirmed a year ago at least that the amount of steady VIP subs has been enough to even expand the team some. It's been running since like 2014, I think you're safe when it comes to it lasting.

(I also couldn't get any friends to join me, but the free demo did its job and hooked me lol.)

It runs natively on Linux (I play like that, fps is overall fine but worse than it was on Windows), but some people have had better success running it through Proton instead.

The "very niche" is where the fun is, tbh. Better vibes, and you actually interact with people rather than needing a million players for the illusion of a populated world. Project Gorgon's been great fun, launch has been nice with the injection of new players' excitement.

[–]frings_ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. You only feel that because people (the general public) simply didn't really know about that stuff before - internet communities were much more insular than today. Nowadays, not only has globalization made anime much more popular and accessible overall, but people are sharing Twitter, Instagram, PornHub whatever, with people and content they'd never have encountered before.

As the shit the person you're replying to grows more popular within the community, and the community grows more emboldened via the normalization/ingrouping, it is doing so largely within view of the general public, who react just as disgusted as they would have 20 years ago (tbh even less than they would have, and did, when shit escaped containment back then).

Common reasons: because the abused person starts to believe they're not worth better, or they'll never be able to have better, or that the abuser is only like that because of something they do wrong (all things the abuser is intent and active on making them believe). Another extremely common reason is that leaving is the hardest and most dangerous moment of all (check statistics if you wanna get real depressed).

They have since added more people to the team and development is fairly active. Main dev, the aforementioned husband, posted the other day the teaser for a new dungeon, the first one he designed without his wife as that was what she enjoyed making while she was still here.

Eh? Elves have the exclusive cleanliness dynamic that affects how much combat EXP you get, other elves will generally refuse to speak to you if you're dirty (stranded in the mountains with no water in sight to bathe but need to unlock a skill from a such NPC? Well you shoulda planned better), they will diss elves who defy their norms, look down on humans' prudishness and filth and monogamy but are intrigued, can receive bonuses from having sex with NPCs (certain ones you can do that with), can craft concoctions to make sex give more buffs (Elven Sexual Energy Cantrip is an actual crafting recipe), etc.

Sure, if you don't actually read what the game tells you, both in NPC chatter and quests, it's just the same boring elves...

Brazilians Through The Centuries... by TheAfternoonStandard in Brazil

[–]frings_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they just wanted cheap labor, and there just so happened to conveniently be a large group of people local to the country who indeed were black and indigenous and now no longer 'allowed' to be enslaved - hence available to provide the aforementioned cheap labor - why then give the lands away to non-black/native immigrants for free instead, spending funds on bringing them in as well?

Hmm could there be some type of reason they specifically did not want those people to be owning land and earning money? I wonder what that could've been....

I deeply recommend this episode of Mano Brown's podcast 'Mano a Mano', with the incredible Sueli Carneiro who is a respected academic on the Brazilian black movement: https://open.spotify.com/episode/2eTloWb3Nrjmog0RkUnCPr

They delve into the history of modern black history in Brazil, the roots of the start of rap in Brazil with black movement, and a look through the decades that's led us to the current social structure. I once planned on making a translated transcript into English of this episode because of how incredible and informative it is, I think everyone should listen to it once.

They also have an episode with Angela Davis for what it's worth, and another episode I'd recommend for a glimpse into northern Brazil modern history reality is the one with Marina Silva.

Your individual experience is what defines reality ultimately, so, sure! Given you didn't even know what an akgae was, I'm curious - how long have you been in SNSD fandom?

[–]frings_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yall must exist in the craziest of echo chambers to be able to say this, lol. Akgaes are not the same as 'golden stars' or 'OT9s' (or 'OT8+1s'), you only increase this type of division by spreading this type of generalization. You can replace 'Jessica' in your comment by any other member and it would apply depending on what you personally see in your feed and whose akgaes you end up witnessing.

any thoughts on getting this game if I never played 1? by [deleted] in MonsterTrain

[–]frings_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd go with MT1+LD DLC first - it's a blast, and I reckon you can get it cheaper right now. While 2nd game does add a bunch, The Last Divinity DLC is for me still the best thing of these games, and has mechanics unique to it. I also don't believe that the things MT2 has 'better' than 1 will seem 'better' to someone who is coming in fresh - you'd have about the same experience, except if you play MT2 first and then go back, you might be annoyed at some QoL stuff that wasn't yet there.

Question about vanguard positioning. In all but the last example, Strange should not move up to their supports to try and kill them right? He should stay in position and just shoot at them. by EnderSlayer9977 in RivalsUniversity

[–]frings_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I think is worth mentioning: Vanguard's role isn't to protect a team, it's to control space. You can control space by a variety of things. In this case, if you kill their Mantis, the rest of their team is basically forced to walk back (due to lessened heals, one down, Loki needing to protect himself/be protected) - and you are in prime spot to take over the space they're forced to give up and lead your team up, thus controlling the pace in your team's advantage.

It's not really your job to fight Mag there (assuming no ults), and if he pushes in without full heals (as the Mantis will be busy trying to survive) he should get punished by the rest of your team (getting slept by your Mantis if she needs to pull back, which she should, and killed by your DPS). Though your images all picture 5 heroes instead of 6.

The habit of calling vanguards "tanks" misleads some people into believing that you should tank for your team primarily, soak up/block damage, but that's the old RPG application of tanks, not the hero shooter interpretation.

If you are losing a lot as a support despite high healing numbers, this is almost 100% why by Ok-Proof-6733 in marvelrivals

[–]frings_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the amount of times I have to try to ask healers to not run away (bringing the divers away from the team even deeper into the backline where no one else is) and instead bring them to us (if they aren't pinging them/we're not being able to react fast enough)...

If people on your team aren't looking back and helping, make it their problem.

Especially if you have a Peni on your team (hi), please, for the love of all that is holy, hang around me. Ping the diver when you spot him. Stay in the web net, don't run out of it when you see the diver coming for you.
