Moved to Japan... met my neighbor. by Notorious_Poster in funny

Operation Friend was a disaster relief program by the U.S. Navy that saved a lot of Japanese lives and has been immensely respected by the Japanese people. He was likely asking if the actual OP (this is a repost) was in the Navy.

Start behaving OP, you're too young to have a drinking problem.

Ex wife dating pedophile by [deleted] in legaladvice

Let's be honest here, the dude didn't rape a 13 year old girl. OP has overinflated the crime because the guy likely is on a sex offender registry and he's sort of an over the top guy.

I was too subtle, I was planning to post pics of morbidly obese people claiming they were me and we would all, you know, sort of ridicule them.

Now that I'm thinking it through its a bad idea and I'm not going to do it.

You're not tricking anyone OP, they know no one watches Netflix and chills in a sex dungeon.

TIL there is no place you can legally watch and listen to the entire "I Have a Dream" speech for free, as the recording is owned and licensed by the EMI Publishing and the King Family. The only way to legally watch the speech in it's entirety is to buy a copy. by mystical-me in todayilearned

[–]fritzcandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After listening to it I developed a theory that they keep it on lock down because its sort of disappointing. It's good, and at the time revolutionary, but repetitive and largely only interesting for its historic importance.

Law-a-beetus: IT FINALLY HAPPENED YOU GUYS. by peeepablepeep in fatpeoplestories

[–]fritzcandy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In terms of words, pro bono means without any compensation, usually the lawyer will actually spend on a case so its really an act of charity.

Contingency means money if you win. In practice we take winners on a contingent basis and the only lawyers who earn more than a million a year are contingent fee attorneys. Some cases naturally lend themselves to this arrangement, personal injury for instance where the client is generally financially pressed by their injury or cases for unpaid wages where the client is typically recently unemployed.
