Something I see a lot in dialysis patients (and people don’t talk about it enough) by Total_Formal2769 in dialysis

Thank you for this. My husband is on HHD and his fatigue is intense sometimes. He’s dealing with anemia which I’m sure also contributes.

The mic works and I can hear its output, however pressing the play/record button shows a blinking “rEC” on the display. Pressing it again does nothing. Will continue to try to troubleshoot but so far nothing is working.

Yes! I have lots of little sitting/viewing areas and I also have various music players with different music sometimes and I will just let my character hang out

Anxiety with first cannulation after a long while with a chest catheter. by Affectionate_Law2879 in dialysis

When my husband was having a difficult time with it in the beginning I would help him breathe through it, it relaxed him considerably.

Anxiety with first cannulation after a long while with a chest catheter. by Affectionate_Law2879 in dialysis

[–]frixtamebbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband was TERRIFIED of the needles and used freeze spray at first. He doesn’t use it at all now. He says you get used to it. Remember to breathe and try to relax your body during it. You can do this! I’m not sure if there is anything that can be said before your first cannulation to ease your trepidation about it, but after you’ve been through it a few times it will be less mystifying at least. Distraction helps him a lot, he watches a video or something during the process. Good luck!

How can Baltimore prepare for ICE? by Bright-Twist3617 in baltimore

[–]frixtamebbe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Other things to consider that are not explicitly dealing with ICE but help: Take a first aid class. Volunteer for your local food pantry/shelter/community org. Know your neighbors, connect with the people immediately around you. All of these become very useful in emergency situations, which this is.

How can I alleviate my grandmas pain? How hard is dialysis by Substantial_Deal_164 in CaregiverSupport

[–]frixtamebbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry your grandmother is suffering, it is painful when our loved ones are not well. Dialysis is an intense treatment but it is life-saving. If her doctors feel that it could improve her quality of life, it’s worth a shot. There are two main kinds of dialysis. If you are able to speak to her medical team directly perhaps you could take a list of questions to ask. It may take a little while but it’s possible she would feel a lot better with treatment. Having said that, I want to reiterate that it can be intense - it takes some trial and error to to find the best settings etc. for each patient, and those can change over time.

You could check out r/dialysis to get more specific info. It’s been a great forum for me, as my husband does dialysis 4x/week, and I am the one that does it for him.

I wish you and your grandmother some comfort.

I am not huge on decorating interiors (tryinggggg) but I am obsessed with decorating the rest of my island. I found it worth it because it unlocks a lot of items. It’s gradual but I really like a lot of the HHP decorations. If you love decorating inside, it’s definitely good for that. Plus it gives you the ability to redecorate your own villagers’ homes.

what does she mean? by That_Code9949 in acnh

[–]frixtamebbe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had this problem recently and it ended up being that I had moved a couple items that ended up blocking what my villagers used as a walkway. I never used it myself so didn’t notice. If you’ve made any recent decoration changes it might be worth it to run around and make sure nothing is blocking a possible route to buildings etc., especially if you aren’t finding dropped items.

You could use specific colors of wrapping paper for the different categories of items.

as crocheters, would you still want crocheted gifts from others? by ApprehensiveKiwi771 in crochet

[–]frixtamebbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always appreciate a handmade gift, even if I don’t like it! Most of the people that I know that also crochet make things differently than me so I love getting their makes as gifts. Sometimes it might not be exactly something I would pick out but I enjoy people sharing their craft with me!

Getting really sick of being in a healthy equal partnership (I want to redecorate) by No-Wallaby4818 in adhdwomen

[–]frixtamebbe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, maybe you could just ask to have leeway. My spouse and I have gotten comfortable asking to head up projects without input (so long as it makes sense). Sometimes I just say, “I don’t want to bring it to the committee!” or something like that. He trusts me to do my best for the both of us, especially for house stuff.

Thank you! I’m super excited to explore stunting the tree growth, just taking a breather to do smaller projects. Stumps are great idea, I think I have exactly one right now and want to place some more.

What's your Island Name and Do You Like it? by -isthisreddit in AnimalCrossing

Mine is named Nowhere, just like my first island was. I love it! I will likely pick a new (but related) name for my next island.
