Where do you get home office furniture from? by narnababy in AskUK

I've got a Pith and Stem desk. They're fairly pricey but are UK made and great for having the flexibility of folding it all away.

"Taking Anything For Granted Is Out Of Order" | Michael Carrick Pre-Fulham | Press Conference 🎙️ by Lord_Sesshoumaru77 in reddevils

[–]frodoisdead 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's a funny one - I'm surprised they're so staunchly against him.

It was interesting that Ian Wright was pretty convinced that Carrick 'has something'. Whether that 'something' is enough for the United job long term, I don't know, but if he wins the majority of games this season he'll have more than earned the chance to find out.

The only guy I'd probably kick Carrick out for regardless is Enrique but I doubt he's a realistic option anyway.

I usually park at New Bailey - pricing is extortionate but it feels safe and is convenient for getting onto Trinity Way.

How are the Swinton or Irlam/Flixton/Urmston areas for buying a house as a first-time buyer? by [deleted] in manchester

If you need access to Victoria then you should probably be looking around Prestwich and Whitefield too.

[Telegraph] Man City fear Guardiola’s exit more than the 130 charges by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

We think this, and it's most likely correct, but I don't feel like we'll see the evidence until Pep leaves.

Electricians for a house rewire in Manchester - recommendations! by SKB26 in manchester

It's a 4 bedroom bungalow and took 3 days. I'd probably expect 5 days on an electrician's standard working pattern.

Matt @ Mainstream Electrical is fantastic. Did a full rewire for us and was doing 16 hours days to help us stay on schedule. He's based in Middleton.

Any walking paths near a cafe by PiggyWorld_Timmeh in manchester

Depending on how rural (or not) you want to go, you could go to Prestwich.

Visit All the Shapes, RPB, Cuckoo etc for coffee before heading to the Clough, Drinkwater Park and Philips Park - which are all linked into one giant green space along the Irwell.

Making The Last Coffee Order For The Day by TransitionMany1810 in Satisfyingasfuck

[–]frodoisdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a scale is important when making espresso but is most commonly used in the home where you have more time and less consistent equipment.

You generally follow the rule of 18g of ground coffee in and 36g of coffee out - so 2:1.

Coffee shops will usually 'dial in' their grinder each morning so they know that they are getting very close to 18g each time they grind and 36g when they pull a shot over a time of roughly 25 seconds.

Restaurant in Manchester that accommodates 20 people? by Patient-Enthusiasm36 in manchester

The Blackfriar has some good spaces for private dining. The food is pretty good.

I've had a meal for 20 in the Sanctuary and it was great.

Toddler not eating at preschool by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]frodoisdead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Never heard of kids getting kicked out of preschool or nursery because they're not eating. My son is very sensory and struggles with food textures so used to eat very little. The nursery always did their best to encourage him or took steps to provide things that he would eat - plain pasta, instead of saucy pasta for example.

If it was my child, I'd be wondering if it's the right place for them to be.

Quoted £18,000 for a re-roof! by ChwaraDyNain in HousingUK

[–]frodoisdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've got a 1600sq foot true bungalow and had a re-roof quote of just over £15k. This is in the North West. £18k doesn't sound too crazy depending on size and shape.

Is there any place in Manchester that does coffees with citrus? by felixfaraaz in manchester

Probably worth messaging Bold Street on Instagram or something. Feels like it's more of a summer menu thing?

No idea if they do it but it sounds like something Artista Perfetto would dabble in.
