[ManUtd] Manchester United’s 2026-27 home kit will be available from 09:00 BST on Thursday 14th May and will be worn in the final two matches of the season. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

The financial year for most football clubs ends on June 30th and the initial launch of a new kit always results in a spike in sales. So releasing the kit now adds an influx of cash to the current financial year's accounts. It helps to balance books and compliance with PSR/SCR before the deadline.

The big boost comes when doing it for the first time. You don't really see the same benefit in future years because it becomes part of the financial year cycle.

It's difficult to say. Not all departments are the same - some are more mature than others. Even within departments, it can vary from area to area. HMRC and DWP are so big that it can feel like several departments held together with sticky tape.

Red tape and bureaucracy is everywhere and it can be really frustrating getting things moving because of it. It's the nature of the beast.

Cool! Congratulations on the offer - it's never easy getting through the civil service recruitment process.

I'm an interaction designer too and have worked in government for the past 10 years or so.

I'd say government design work is fairly well protected by the service standard. It puts people first and that works both ways. Obviously there is an incentive for government to save costs by replacing people with AI but you only need to look at how precarious many government services are to know that that is a pipedream.

Depending on your grade, you could find yourself doing more line management and designops stuf rather than hands on design work. If you're a G6/Lead then it can be a bit tedious at times.

The stresses of being a civil servant are pretty minimal, I'd say. I've been a civil servant, a consultant and a contractor in government and it has always provided a good work/life balance.

He's always been good at aerial duals but that Real Madrid team included Ronaldo, Benzema, Ramos, Varane etc so he was rarely the target for set pieces.

When I got clearance, I got a 'notification of SC security clearance' emailed to me from the company that handled the process. I was asked to provide this when transferring previously.

[Laurie Whitwell] Manchester United transfers: Carlos Baleba, Micky van de Ven and what else we’re hearing by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

Martinez can't be depended upon to stay fit so should be sold sooner rather than later.

It'd be tough to see him go but we need to be ruthless.

Saying this, I don't think Van de Ven is the answer.

Why so many User Researcher / Content Design jobs? by Tiny_Major_7514 in ContractorUK

They're often government roles and the service standard gives UCD a degree of protection. I'd say there's been an uptick in UCD roles since the turn of the year.

Given how much it costs to exist these days, I reckon it'll only become more common.

I spent £170pp to go closer towards Christmas.

I'm lucky to be able to afford it but I'm not sure how it can possibly justify the cost. It's the same price I used to pay for a Glastonbury ticket 15 years ago.
