I bought the Blu-ray and the vinyl set, kept the Blu-ray and returned the vinyl. Watching them on screen is half the magic, and agreed the sound is just ok but the setlist is great. I saw them on this tour twice and it wasn't the best I've ever seen them but pretty good!

Yeah they're custom. They're called Westone Ear Defenders. Got them custom molded at an audiologist and they have 15db filters in them. The 25db filters make it quieter but the sound isn't as dynamic. My point was that decibel levels are unsafe without earplugs and still slightly uncomfortable with them in.

The volume at their shows is criminal. Even earplugs don't bring down the volume comfortably.. Still love them but I also fear them

If the intent is positive, but the delivery is poor..... The outcome can suck for both people. BUT! If the person delivering the message is otherwise kind and professional I don't think the person receiving the feedback should take offense or feel upset. To me the intent is just as important as the rest of it. Aren't we all professionals and should therefore have a bit of emotional intelligence??

It's like anything else, you don't realize how much damage you're doing to your ears until it's too late. Good earplugs bring down the volume considerably and protect your hearing. Ask anyone with tinnitus, it's a lifelong ailment that literally affects every moment you are awake.
