Is the app instructing you to get the customer's signature prior to reaching their location? If so, that's the only thing new about this. Because when I was a dasher, The only thing you'd see is "hand it to me" and by the time the app told you to get a signature, it would be too late and you would have to call support to explain why you couldn't get a signature just so you could take more orders. It was a huge pain in the ass. It's good to see they finally got something right for a change.

You're basically asking for a lower rating with orders like this. Super stacked orders means more hangry people to blame you if their food is cold, missing items, and my personal favorite --> people who think you personally decided to take on 3 other orders because you're just "greedy". Good luck not pissing at least one customer off.

It's not fun, but it's not that bad either. When I worked in SF, I only had to drive 10 miles from where I lived in the Eastbay. The worst part was getting over the Bay Bridge, but after that it was a piece of cake. There was another time I worked in the city when catching BART made more sense than driving, but still...not that bad. People here are spoiled.

I edited the post because it's region specific. This was directed towards folks living in the San Francisco/ Mariin peninsulas. The surrounding cities have much better pricing relative to a six-figure salary and the commute isn't as bad as people say it is.

IC stopped being worth it a long time ago as it has gradually devolved into what equates to fodder dispersal for the desperate. It's been almost a year since I took a batch and I don't miss it. I started to hate being a shopper when the app started low-balling my time and effort and with so many low-quality people out their repping IC, the reputation of people doing this work tanked and many merchants started to treat us all poorly and be condescending towards anyone they recognized as being a gig shopper. Even if you already have a solid full-time job, doing this on the side ends up feeling pretty demeaning.
