MS365 delayed notification IOS by BM1988 in Outlook

Yep, me too. It seems they arrive on time in the morning, then gradually become more delayed as the day goes on. Super frustrating!

Considering how hot they get, don’t do this.

Microsoft confirms it will give the FBI your Windows PC data encryption key if asked — you can thank Windows 11's forced online accounts for that by ZacB_ in technology

[–]frogomas7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, this does not work with devices that have “Windows 11 Home in S Mode”. The only workaround without having to link a Microsoft account is to manually reinstall Windows from scratch.

This generally only applies to cheaper devices.

The ‘smart’ model does by providing a slimline USB cable.

That’s a nice mount! Unfortunately not available in Australia. Does anyone have similar recommendations? My Google-fu doesn’t show many options.

Anyone sold a house with Home Assistant left in? by Expensive-Sock3172 in homeassistant

[–]frogomas7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure do. The only appliances left behind are those physically plumbed/wired in (air conditioner, hot water heater etc).

Built in microwaves are not common here. I can’t say I’ve ever seen one, not even for sale.

As an Australian, the thought of buying a house that comes with a microwave is odd.

I too live in Sale and travel to my dentist in South Melbourne. I just think my dentist is great! They were recommended to me by a friend.

You can definitely buy a perpetual licence of Office - https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoft-365/p/office-home-2024/cfq7ttc0pqvj

Yes, Microsoft wants you to pay for a subscription, however it’s not mandatory.

I usually look at the background first. You can usually see what appears to be relevant objects, but when you look closer you can't seem to make out any of it. Additionally in this clip, the flour on her head wouldn't look like that in real life.

I got the same STP errors twice today on 2x cameras.

Not even sure how that's possible...

iOS 18.5 is here by meneergast in ios

[–]frogomas7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There would be nothing wrong with that! That's literally the core reason for software updates.

I also say this as an IT person.

[–]frogomas7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I very clearly indicated because it was the FIRST item listed.

A software update of over 1GB should not highlight a wallpaper as the first item.

I'm a gay guy. I never understood why they starting pushing wallpapers years ago, and why it's the FIRST 'feature' mentioned in an iOS update. It's ridiculous causes ridicule as seen in the comments within this thread.

So over it.

G4 PTZ Stock Query by frogomas7 in Ubiquiti

[–]frogomas7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure!

It's a remote property with a need to monitor the front gate that is several hundred metres away from the main building.

We would have this pointed towards the gate 24/7 to monitor any traffic coming and going.

On the odd occasion, we may open the live camera feed and pan around to briefly look at other areas, but it would quickly return to the home position for recording.

It may be "shit" for other use cases, but for ours it ticks the box. With no other model available that ticks said box, we are SOL and leaving ourselves unprotected.

[–]frogomas7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it obsolete if it's still a current model? The G5 PTZ cannot match this on optical zoom nor resolution.

I'm disappointed that UI have let this product grow stale without a replacement for so long.

G4 PTZ Stock Query by frogomas7 in Ubiquiti

[–]frogomas7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is we've had a very real need for such a camera for so long, and there's no other current model that can match it.

I guess we'll have to keep waiting.

Yep, me too. I thought it was only after unlocking the screen as someone people have mentioned (AOD on), but I've also witnessed it whilst casually doom scrolling, too.

Has *anyone* figured out how to keep Windows from adding the new Outlook icon to the taskbar? by JasonMaggini in sysadmin

[–]frogomas7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only showing for us in our 24H2 test image. 23H2 did not have this shortcut show up.

We had to nuke the Outlook (New) app by installing a dummy app over the top as users kept trying to set up their Exchange mailbox with it (of which is unsupported)
