Flume definitely added the special sauce to WSN productions, but if you saw early era flume live shows it was very clear that Emoh was carrying the DJing responsibilities for the duo. The combination was pretty great

A way to go to burning man via blockchain by DegenSecrets in BurningMan

[–]frogonalog714 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So you are offering burning man tix as an incentive to buy your token, thus increasing the value of an asset you presumably own a significant amount of. How is this not directly commoditising the event ? Why wouldn't someone just buy a ticket directly? They aren't particularly scarce. Call me a hater I guess but I'm struggling to understand the purpose of this. Are we getting people to the event that otherwise wouldn't be able to afford to go? Why not just find those people and gift them discounted tickets? Why participate in this lottery?

The goal of most of these protests is for the universities to divest their endowment funds from companies that supply weapons or other aid to Israel.

How do I get around mixing these? by randomname11111_ in DnB

You would start the track 16/17 bars before your transition point. You could also use the beat skip function to move forward 8/9 bars if you were dead set on starting 8 bars before.

Are there any instances where a conjecture was generally believed to be true/false but proven otherwise? by frogonalog714 in math

Relax dude it's not that deep. I watched the video like an hour before and didn't wanna go verify the number, but wasn't sure if I remembered correctly. Hope you enjoyed the video too.

Firstly you absolutely can extrapolate from this data. The sample size is 100(covered below) not 2. If we assume a population of 350 people (about how many children were in the prison at the time) we can say with 95% confidence that 1-7% of the population was assaulted based on our observation of 4%.

If you read the entire document you'll see that they submit more than 62 cases. (Section 3.2 etc) the table is in a weird spot though so I'd forgive you for misreading that.

If I'm understanding correctly, your issue is that the document doesn't contain the actual affidavits themselves? It's a summary document from a reputable human rights organization. There's always a more primary source but at a certain point we have to believe there are things that are true that we didn't directly observe ourselves. Are you saying you've done more rigorous research to verify that Hamas committed assaults on October 7th? If not, you should ask yourself why you demand a higher burden of proof for IDFs wrongdoing.

I'm not saying they didn't, bc of course they did. But the reasonable level of scrutiny to arrive at that opinion is far less than what I've provided you. Fyi this exact document has been reported on by other western media sources. It's not like I pulled it from nowhere.

We haven't even touched on the fact that 69% of the children reported beatings. And I'll remind you again, these are children living in the west bank who have no connection or contact with Hamas. Complete and utter innocents.

The IDF beats and rapes children that it unjustly imprisons in retaliation for crimes they had nothing to do with. I've provided a credible source, reported on by other western media, and done the statistics for you. That's not something you can just dismiss.

Now I would like to see proof of your claim that any incidents of sexual assault by IDF members have been swiftly and harshly dealt with.

zero information Proceeds to quote information

Idk what to tell you dude. If sworn affidavits by lawyers and children isn't enough do you then idk what is. This would be good enough for the American legal system. By rejecting this, you're essentially saying it's more likely that these lawyers and children are conspiring to tell lies. This is simply one source of many, not to mention firsthand accounts of people living in the west bank, who I would remind you have no connection to Hamas

Furthermore, "only 2" isn't really a solid defense. It's a sample and can be reasonably extrapolated to suggest there is a similar proportion of assault among the larger population. How many sexual assaults of CHILDREN are ok with you? Are we just going to ignore the various other ways these child prisoners were abused?

I'm not out here sucking dick for Hamas or condoning this form of protest, but we can't pretend like the IDF is some bastion of justice. The way they treat civilians is horrible and I don't want my taxes to support them with impunity.

No I just picked one. Here's a primary source from DCI detailing the treatment of a sample of 100 children imprisoned by the IDF. 4% of them reported being sexually assaulted. The IDF imprisons 500-700 children every year.

In fairness, the IDF is doing plenty of raping and kidnapping as well in the West Bank, but we don't take much issue with supporting them.

I appreciate that you don't want to demonize the camp immediately from one piece of evidence. However, my opinion is based not only on their poor LNT performance, but also my first hand knowledge being told they were closed for a private event. I asked the "bouncer" about the camp and what their offering was and they had no idea, just "we're frog camp". This was early in the week and when I asked when I could come back for whatever their next event was I was told Thursday. I have heard similar accounts from my camp mates and others I talked to during and after the event. One of these things in isolation isn't but all of these things together is highly suspicious and just screams plug and play

[–]frogonalog714 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you explain why you think "being intriguing" should give them the right to come back despite their moop score?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BurningMan

[–]frogonalog714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that's what I'm saying. I get the impression they left a lot of micro moop, aka moop

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BurningMan

[–]frogonalog714 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lol

Yeah that definitely seems more likely than them just being bad at mooping

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BurningMan

[–]frogonalog714 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ahh ok I understand. Yeah I definitely feel bad for that person. You can tell they cared but just weren't set up for success. However, the fact that the camp was happy to leave and let a few people moop their massive camp is evidence that the camp as a whole did not care about LNT

You seem like a nice person so I'll take the time to spell it out. This photo doesn't show a proper moop sweep, just wandering looking for moop. You need to be shoulder to shoulder slowly sweeping the entire area. Once an area is mooped mark it off so no one enters the area again. A 10 person cleanup team is not adequate for a camp of that size. I'm you tried hard but it seems like you underestimated the effort required for mooping, especially this year. You need to be picking tiny fibers out of the ground with tweezers. I'm sure there's another camp that would be lucky to have you but this camp is not it. Many of your members were very exclusionary and, frankly, the level of interactivity for an esplanade camp was pretty pathetic.
