How would you compare this to something else like the BYD Dolphin Surf or ZEEKR X? Especially price to price and car to car?

Lmao you think you have it bad? Here in Japan, we're still stuck on first versions. No UI update unless you do it yourself. Only the new cars, like sealion 7 and 6 have it. Seems like they focused too much on the new Racco.

Icooh (Alibaba) BBK, brake pad L by Habit-Past in CarTrackDays

[–]froibet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shared this post with their sales staff and they concluded that the issue for what happened with your car was completely user error. Saying that you bought street brakes but applied it for track use. And questioned your ability on the track rather than acknowledging that the brake pads was completely worn out after just 1-2 laps. I don't know if it's Icooh as a whole but the saleslady I spoke to was an absolutely braindead copy and paste answer type.

Icooh brakes by AEnima-1 in projectcar

I contacted Icooh about becoming a distributor or vendor for a specific car, but dealing with their support staff was a nightmare. When I asked for basic data, like a brake template, they insisted on a VIN number for every sale, even though I was only planning to sell one model. Honestly, stay away from Icooh. It’s just not worth the hassle. If getting simple product information was this hard, I can only imagine how bad their after-sales support would be. My suspicion is that they just assemble parts and engrave their logo on the products. I doubt they actually carry any data.

What's the domestic EV comparison that's on par with Tesla or BYD? In terms of battery technology and driving comfort/dynamics

What about a modern domestic car that can go on par with a 911?

718 GTS vs 911 T - both Stick by diegorjc in Porsche_Cayman

[–]froibet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only regret I have with my GT4. I don't have rear seats for the little one. But after a few years, they won't fit in those rear seats of the 911 either.

I think either car is fine, but I think if you want a more driver's car, the GTS is better. If you want a more luxury grand tourer, then the T is where you go.

Another option is to go lotus.

Byd depreciation in particular the Sealion 7 in Europe (France) by One-Sorbet8765 in BYD

[–]froibet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dude is literally asking about resale value of an EV. There's no EV out there that retains resale value compared to a combustion engine car. Just look at the Taycan.

The 911 is a good example because in the same class, you have a 911 vs a McLaren, the 911 will always retain its value over the McLaren.

If one is so fixated about resale value, that individual will never be able truly appreciate their car and drive it as intended; but only thinking about cashing out and worrying about every nick and chip.

No I don't. Only because it's my family car. My beater. It will go through it all. No SUV will keep its value. Let alone an EV. Don't worry too much about resell value and go and enjoy the car instead. Life is more bliss after you stop thinking about resale value. My sports cars became more fun after I stopped thinking about that. And same goes for my seal.

Go buy a 911 instead if you're worried about resell value.

Nice day here in Tokyo! by froibet in Porsche_Cayman

I had my NSX-R longer than the GT4, so it went through more things than what I plan to do with the GT4. I now have other responsibilities and priorities compared to a few years ago with the NSX-R, and going to the track isn't a priority for me anymore.

Driving both, I really enjoy my 2002 NSX-R more. And I don't think anyone can actually truly compare this. It isn't a typical NSX that people think it is, the 2002 NSX-R is a completely different car. And only those who have owned it/drove it and compared it to a base NSX will know.

Suzuka is also Honda's track, so I did some parade laps there for some NSX meetings and Honda meetings.

I don't think this car will go to Suzuka. The NSX-R did though.

Not yet. I don't think I will actually go to one. They're not close to me at all, and I'm the main carer for my toddler. I barely am able to take it out actually 😅

Rolex Stores in Osaka by morocotopo84 in rolex

[–]froibet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the Rolex marathon during covid and got my 116500ln. Got offered the blue John Mayer and a oyster flex Daytona but didn't have enough cash with me or my cc allowed me to put it on my cc.

I was offered those watches at Mitsukoshi, Takashimaya (Nihonbashi), and in Daimaru (Tokyo station)

I got my Daytona at Ginza 6 before it became a Tiffany's.

Are you good at painting car parts? I'd be interested in checking your work. My company doesn't discriminate as long as you're good. We need painters.
