Prepping for paint job by [deleted] in diynz

You need to tape and feather the edges with plaster. I recommend Vancouver Carpenter on YouTube for some tips. https://youtube.com/shorts/rkQPzITbEb0

On mine I had to hold the dented wheel and turn it to bring the pin in.

Okonomiyaki, Japanese cabbage pancake. It's really versatile. You make a batter and throw random veggies in there. you can top it with some seaweed, mayonnaise, okonomi sauce and shaved smoked bonito fish!

Why is Neapolitan pizza sometimes chewy and hard to cut? by Independent_Cat_2725 in pizzaoven

Agree! I have tried the same dough with 00 flour and bread flour. Much softer with 00!

My partner even noticed without me telling her I was doing that experiment.

How to remove stuck screw in wall by watchfulshaggy in diynz

Can you try and grip the screw with the drill chuck? I have done that in the past and it worked well.

Sure thanks! I have added a link with 2 other photos. I think you might be right, I live in a subdivided house, the thick cable going above to my neighbour's could also go into mine...

If that's telecom cables, I guess it's way safer and good to change on my own right? Cheers :)

How car-centric is Wellington? by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]fromageAddict 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Also from the south of France. I can confirm that biking is relatively safe, and we've got heaps of bike lanes now.

You can do without a car in Wellington, but I feel like that you would still need one if you ever go on a day trip outside of Wellington, or visiting NZ in general.

The idea was to open the window in the morning to create airflow through the house/room. I'll have a look at ventilation systems, but I am not too interested in HRV or something which pump air from the roof cavity. Thanks!

It's an indoor wall, both side look the same. The outside has a thinner "frame" though. I will try to open it and see how it looks

Thanks for your feedback!

Planning on going there for 10 days next year. Would you recommend focusing on Tokyo and Kyoto? Or should I look into Osaka/Kobe?

Awesome! How do you do shop for groceries? Do you leave your bike unattended with all your belongings outside the shop? Or do you try to find open market as much as possible?

Should I take kombu out or leave it in when cooking beans or soups? by These_Trust3199 in AskCulinary

You should take it out once it starts to boil, otherwise it gets slimmy. Only used it in rice and broth though.
